I loved UC nd DC is one of my most wanted wii games.... but yeah it's not classical RE :p

It's funny though, all RE on Wii are awesome and the main series one on HD is complained about left and right =D

The thing is, RE4 was awesome and RE5 had a lot of hype behind it.
I honestly do not know a single person that thought Resident Evil 5 was awesome. Most say its meh and some are quite dissapointed with it.

Reason why 5 sold so well is because part 4 was one of the best games of the generation and it built the hype.

Watch how well part 6 will sell now...

Developer can never win.

If they keep doing the same thing in every new iteration of a franchise people complain it's the same ole and there is no innovation.

And if they change things, people complain about change...

Well now you know one, I loved RE5. RE6 will sell just fine.

RE4 had the perfect balance of classic horror and new ideas. RE5 felt like an action game more than anything else.

The series died with RE4
although RE4 is a good game in general, knowing that it killed the series made it hard for me to enjoy the game, Capcom could change the title of RE4 and character names and no1 would know it was the sequel to RE CVX

OP: Yes and no. RE 5 is a very good game (imo) but not a very good Resident Evil as we know the series.

I don't know why "supposed" RE fans beckon for the old RE games. Guys they made RE4 not only to make it better but to FIX it. The first few REs had bad controls and bad camera issues. That's actually one of the reasons they were considered scary. Give or take the remakes on gamecube made them a hell of a lot better but RE4 was truly the pinnacle in the seires. It combined the old concepts with the controls and gameplay that made it WORK. RE4 took everything about the old series and put it into something that made it just flow a lot better. And because of that it is one of the best games ever made and definitely tops in the series. I mean I still like to play RE0 and RE1 on the gamecube and play the old style, but I'm A HUGE RE fan and I know for a fact I would love to have those games remade like RE4 rather than RE4 remade like them.

Yeah they lost their touch with RE long ago.
They should allow Platinum Games to make the next one if it wants to come even close to the greatness that RE4 was. To be honest, true survival horror is almost non existent although some titles are trying like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Cursed Mountain, and Alan Wake. I also hope the marine side of AvP2 will have survival horror gameplay but my hopes aren't high for that one ;)
