Hah, that's a good one! I'd sooner believe MW2 is responsible.
Just face it, PS3 fans didn't care about Borderlands and shooters do considerably better on the 360. ODST had huge sales, MW2 smashed records, and there was still plenty of room for Borderlands to do great. Left 4 Dead 2 will as well.

MW2 can hardly be responsible when all the sales of Borderlands we know so far happened before MW2 release...
