I hate pirates but I download music from limewire so I'd be a hypocrite if I said not to pirate.

Wii piracy is pretty bad. With Wiiloader, Homebrew Channel and several others; it's apparent that people do pirate Wii games. Also New Super Mario Bros. Wii was leaked 8 days ago.

I think it's great that people pirated 360 games and I think it's even greater that Microsoft banned them. Now there's a surplus of perfectly good banned 360s on Craigslist that can easily be picked up for about $50. It'll be great to use as a whatever console on the side, and even as a DVD player or something. If it RRODs or E74s, I won't have to sweat it since it was so cheap to begin with.

Single most stupid comment ever to be posted. The music industry makes it's money off concerts primarily, so there is an offset to people illegally downloading. The video game industry does not have this. Please refrain from posting such idiocy in the future.

Piracy isnt gonna kill the 360 , Games these days are about Online play and Achievements(I mean no online gamertag), if you cant do either one then whats the point in playing?

And online multiplayer is driving the game market, and you cannot pirate xbox live.

OT: yes piracy is stupid and is usually used for the wrong reasons...at the end most of the pirates are just selfish and wants to get everything free... oh and have a nice day good sirs...

I used to pirate games back in the day as a schoolkid and I dont really have a bad thought about it. Heck we could no way afford all the games that appeared every month and they were easy to copy.

Now I buy all my games.
Many second hand but also many on release day.
I also often sell them once I have finished playing then as I think 60 US is a bit steep for a game that may only be played for a few weeks at most.

I dont pirate music as I dont really like to listen to music much at home.
I do pirate films. Heck they all come on the telly within 6 months anyway what the hells the difference ?

Piracy has always been around. I knew a lot of people who has pirated C-64 games.  There are more games sold this generation more than ever so why worry so much about those who pirate?  i like I mention in another thread when a developer develops a game they can only rely on those who will pay full price for the game. They can't even rely on used game sales.

What's hurting PC gaming a lot more than piracy is the fact more people are getting laptops instead of upgrading their desktop. (laptop just like LCD TV = less space) Today's HD consoles have better GPU/CPU than the average laptop. Because of this more and more high graphic games are developed on consoles instead of PC.
