Some companies like to push the envelope. Wii doesn't offer that for everyone.

Agreed. I'm sure Reggie could secure these games if he really pushed them enough to do it.. Plus he's got a 56 million userbase to help persuade them.
“I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had this conversation with every publisher who makes content that is not available on my platform. The conversation goes like this: ‘We have a 22-million unit installed base. We have a very diverse audience… We have active gamers that hunger for this type of content. And why isn’t it available?"
Maybe you should localize some games first lol.
Moneyhatting is NOT the way to go though. Building working relationships with these developers/publishers and offering assistance in development for some of their titles would help in preparation from the future. Providing a little in terms of advertising and promotion. It is simple as running a commercial for Super Smash Bros., and saying also check out TMNT Smash Up or ____ title. If you liked Pikmin, check out Little King Story and ___ also exclusive to the Wii. Just a mention.
As far as I know, with the exception of Capcom, Square Enix and maybe Namco Bandai, Nintendo is really isolated, especially in the West.

Nintendo did the exact same for Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube they signed an exclusive deal with Capcom to keep RE4 exclusively on GCN for 6 months. If Nintendo began writing cheques for exclusive third party content like Microsoft and even Sony does then we would get more great third party games. Come on Nintendo you have always been the most profitable games publisher why not use some of that wealth to contract out some exclusive titles? Maybe buy up some new studios, liscense some IP's to third parties (Like you did with Donkey Konga and StarFox:Assault). Write some fat cheques to Activision/Capcom...etc... maybe even write a cheque to publishers currently giving the Wii exclusives, how about writing UbiSoft a cheque for giving us AssasinsCreed3 exclusively for Nintendo's next console. I mean seriously Reggie can complain all he wants about us not getting the games but that is Nintendo's fault! |
Capcom signed a deal with Nintendo to make about 5 games for the GC. But Nintendo didn't subsadize any of their production costs like MS and Sony have been doing for a lot of the third party games on the HD systems. Plus, Capcom later broke that agreement and released RE4 on the PS2.

No you can't. Eventhough Little Kings Story doesn't have 'waggle' features, it does feature some characteristics that are unique to the Wiimote/Nunchuck setup. Similar to button configurations and commands in Mario galaxy. But regardless, there's just no Classic Controller option in Little King's Story.
Despite what the ignorant people at IGN said in their review.
I wonder if third parties would bring them those games even if they were more in line with the rest of the industry in terms of technology. I just can't imagine a lot of these types of games on a Nintendo system, or at least not in such numbers.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Buttons, with the Wiimote and nunchuk, the Wii has 6 easily accessible buttons (buttons 1 and 2 are a bit hard to access with this playstyle), as well as a D pad and an analog stick
