Forums - Gaming - DICE Explains Why the Bad Company 2 Beta Isn't 360 Bound

Speaking to X360A at the beginning of the month in London at EA's Winter Showcase, Bad Company 2 Producer, Gordon Van Dyke, addressed why Xbox 360 owners wouldn't get a slice of the Bad Company 2 beta pie in the coming weeks.

“There is no particular reason, it’s more about logistics and the timing of the development of our project,” said Van Dyke.

“When we were thinking in hindsight, we wanted to do everything to get on the Xbox as well, but we did it for the first Bad Company – the Xbox only had the beta, so now we’re giving the PS3 guys a chance,” he pointed out.

It's not all doom and gloom though, even if you don't own a PS3, you can still get on the PC beta. “There’s also going to be a beta for the PC as well," Van Dyke noted, "but there’s going to be a demo for all of them, so everybody is going to get a chance to try it out, so everybody should be happy.”

Van Dyke was quick to reassure 360 owners, “If you have a 360, sorry, but you’ll still get a chance to play it [pre-release].”

So there you have it, it's a matter of logistics... that, and levelling the playing field.

Check back later this week for the highlights of the Bad Company 2 interview and the full interview itself.

I think that it is cool that Dice is trying to keep things fare.  360 got the Beta for BC1 and now PS3 will get the Beta for BC2.  On top of that everyone will get to try out the demo.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

So they don't wanna seem bias to a certain platform?? Well they failed!!! Dice = PC bias confirmed!!
