Forums - Gaming - Blog post ''Square Enix Have Destroyed Final Fantasy Tradition''

Wow, I just heard the song... What the hell is that whiny, dime a dozen crap doing in a Final Fantasy game? This isn't RnB hour on MTV we're talking about (not that they play anything besides RnB and Hip-Hop/Rap anyway...) its a frickin Final Fantasy game!

Are we really going to start to forego masterpieces such as this;

for the benefit of cheap, plastic pop? Makes me truly sad.

It has, but it seems some people here dont like them.

If they don't like cutscenes they shouldn't be playing RPGs.

And I agree with that.

Just goes to prove my point. SquareEnix can screw over all their other franchises. But the only time people actually step up and start caring is when anything is changed or left out of a Final Fantasy game.

There is no other SE franchise that matters more than FF.

Its that mentality that's killing all the other franchises in SE.  When people only care about FF.

And in this case, just one song was changed.  Whereas in other games, entire games content was altered from names being changed to half the dialogue missing.

Simply saying 'it doesn't matter unless it happens to Final Fantasy' is no excuse.  It gives them a reason to keep doing it UNTIL they start doing it to Final Fantasy.

Let me say it like this: why should I care if they change games I dont play? I care about FF because FF is the game I will be playing, and a lot of people will be playing it too and they care.

OT: the song sucks, I hate these singers and their stuff. Out of all the artists they couldve chosen they chose this typical pop/R&B singer, anyways I never liked the inclusion of non orchestal songs in these games, but kiss me goodbye was better than this, but like I said, the orchestal OST is really good so it doesnt matter a lot to me.

Let me repeat myself.

Simply saying 'it doesn't matter unless it happens to Final Fantasy' is no excuse.  It gives them a reason to keep doing it UNTIL they start doing it to Final Fantasy.

Which they are doing now.  Oh, and have been doing.  Most people just didn't care because they grew up with stuff like 'spoony bard' and 'whatever' and think they're canon.  When they're completely altered from the Japanese version.

Ignorance makes for tollerance.

I didnt say it didnt matter, I said I dont care, and of course I dont care when I dont even play those games, from SE I just play FF and KH, and I just care if they change those.

Not caring is essentially the same as saying 'it doesn't matter'.  In fact, saying 'I don't care' is worse, because its stating you choose to ignore and choose to accept what's going on.

But whatever, that's your choice.  And its your choice to allow them to keep altering their games, including Final Fantasy, because you refuse to care.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Watching the TGS 09 trailer with the Japanese theme song is what got me back into being interested in this game, and the Song fits the trailer and Final Fantasy well. I'm disappointed.. this game better have other good songs to back it up, because removing that one was a blow. This must be how they sped up the localization process - by not bothering to westernize the main song.

I really liked the song in the trailer. I also liked the song at the end of Crisis Core and the one in the Versus trailer.

Those songs actually suit the games they are in, unlike this new song. It's fucking horrible, it made me cringe just listening to it. :(

All that stuff about Nomura, look at the credits, he has some influence, but guess what, the 2 masterminds behind FFXIII are the director Motomu Toriyama (event director of FFX, director of FFX-2) and producer Yoshinori Kitase (he goes wayyy back to the FFV days, he is one of the names that is associated with FF every time, he directed FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII, since then, he has led the production team 1, that did FFX, FFX-2, Dissidia, etc., not to mention he also directed Chrono Trigger)

So if you have to blame something to this game, blame it at the correct people...

They have 45 GB's to work with, let us choose which song to play, cuz that song fucking sucks.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

No, it's 3 DL DVDs with only 6/7 GBs available on each (2/3 GB for MS security files). That's a maximum of 21 GB.

45? more like 24 if the Xbox360 version is the exact same and comes in 4 DVDs, if it comes in 3 then it's 18... So we have to see if that is not a limitation for putting the songs (it shouldn't, but we don't know yet)
