....if that's the truth, then a lot of complaining in this thread is focused on a very, very small and downloadable portion of the game....

FF isn't about tradition, it reinvents itself with every rendition. Fans never get the same game, that's why people have favorites. This game isn't Madden or Wild Arms. It is not an upgraded version of a previous FF game. It will be completely different than what anyone expects, like every entry has been, and some people will love it, while some will pick another entry as their favorite. That's why it's such a great game. Sans-tradition and all.

Exactly, besides the song is not that bad. You are still going to get a great rpg just like every FF has delivered on. The musical score is still going to be top notch as well. The composer doing XIII has worked with Uematsu on other projects in the past so their styles will most likely clash together. Really what I am trying to say is that this is not a big deal, not at all.

 

@the bold - thats what that one man said in that video when they announced the release date for NA/EU I pay attention and I agree with it.

It's kind of hard to say if music is good or not these days.  Plenty of people trash "Eyes On Me" and that song not only won several awards but was also the best selling video game theme in Japan at the time(before "Hikari")

I'd be pretty dissapointed if this was the theme song instead of Kimi Ga Iru Kara (Which is actually pretty damn good and fits the mood properly). Oh well, we at least should have an option to play it.

FF tradition has been slowly but surely been destroyed by SE starting with FF7....the Minute they took Amano off Lead Art desigher they destroyed a piece of tradition

sad thing is FF has never beena bout tradition except for the prelude theme & the main FF theme, chocobo's, moogles & cid

You want tradition, buy Dragon Quest, it stuck to its tradition & see what it did in the west

S-E is doing what they can to make their game a success

if we have a job, don't we try to gain as much as we can from it?

FF13 is S-E's job, let them try to make it as successful as they can, listening to fans has led to the downfall of way too many companies

actually Darth..ur wrong. FF has always had STAPLES...the Story,Characters,settings may have changed everytime but the STAPLES stayed the same....ppl are whining because SE has removed some pretty big STAPLES in the series recently
