Forums - Sales - FFCC: The Crystal Bearers sells 26,000 copies on day 1.

I wish I knew... perhaps all the times PS3 fans were saying that They should be getting the RPG's on their consoles they were right?

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

hmm.. this obviously isn't a game Japan waited for so I don't expect a notable wii hw bump

Maybe not, but I still say that it really could've been much worse.  Hey, titles such as Fragile, Muramasa, and Arc Rise Fantasia, all decidedly niche projects, got about as far as 26000 on their first week while selling less than that on their first days.  Something to chew on.  It's just "meh" sales.

^ relax with damage control...i dont think anybody was expecting crazy sells

PS3 fans want this game on their system?

I don't think the game is even an RPG, so I don't see how that's relevant.

MH3 is still bigger than any PS3 game in Japan by a pretty large margin.

Damn. I thought those recent Monster Hunter buyers would would have helped the game's numbers a bit. I still think they should have waited till after Tales of Graces came out so there'd be a larger RPG fanbase for this game.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Failure or not, at least this game's first day sales are better than the Echoes of Time Wii port's; that one did only 14K in its opening day and didn't get much farther than 22K on its opening week. At least this game will surpass that. People can scream "bomb" all they want. But backed up with arguments like this, I'm willing to argue otherwise. More of a "mediocre" opening at best. Nothing outstanding, nothing terrible.

And you're right, c0rd, even the argument that PS3 owners would want this game on the system is pretty much a non-existant argument. After all, MH3 outsold all its competitors.

Still, someone on PS Network said goodbye DQX for Wii, but let's not jump the gun here.

I was hoping that FFCC:TCB would do 200k first day and 1 million Lifetime. Then Square Enix would put more resources behind the IP and help the IP grow. But then I realized that this game is an open world action game and not really a RPG. Subsequently, this game was destined to not do well in Japan.

Note: The Wii needs more RPGs in Japan.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Think of it this way, though: MANY other third party titles for Wii have had FAR worse debuts than this. It's better than most in my eyes, just not spectacular.

Echoes of Time Wii deserved to fail.....#1 worst atemp to cash in ever this GEN and probably period...so using it as a measure means nothing..overall lets judt wait till 1st week sales....BTW MH IS NOT A RPG!!!

I was just trying to lower my standards/expectations for this title as well so that I wouldn't be too let down by the sales results. At first I was, but when I realized it was only out of 75000, I was OK with that. If it were out of 200000, then it would've been a true failure. Hopefully Square-Enix will find a better way to market any future Wii titles they produce. Hey, I expect that when they bring out Dragon Quest X for Wii, they're REALLY gonna go all out marketing that one. Of course, hearing that Iwata intends to strengthen Nintendo's third-party relationships is reassuring. How he'll do that I don't know, but despite the so-so performance of this title, I don't think Square-Enix will be jumpshipping Nintendo again any time soon. After all, they're working together to promote DQIX in the U.S.., and I have yet to hear anything about a cancellation of DQX. And even then, I don't think it ever will happen.
