Forums - Sales - FFCC: The Crystal Bearers sells 26,000 copies on day 1.

Just give the single and darth will start 26 threads about the "Wii being DOOMED in JAPAN !!!!!!!!"

Oh wow, that was lower than I expected. Thought it would crack 100k first week but that seems unlikely. Shame, game looks so inspired but I guess changing it up scared the FFCC audience off.

EDIT: Anyone know the first shipment?

Oh geez I was expecting about 50k-75k first week. Obviously not even close. Guess the Japanese were not looking forward to this FF spinoff... even though they buy every one of them on DS haha.

There's still time for it to reach the lower end of your prediction. It'd only have to double its Day One numbers, which is immenintly possible.

Yeah, at least SquareEnix has placed some store placement ads for the game in the store in the photos I saw.  The first day numbers are lower than expected, yes, but I'm pretty much gonna steer clear of this forum until I finish the game myself.

Does anyone know what the first shipment was?

Also:

1,000th POST! Woot.

Good point.  If it was like a 50K shipment, then that number would not be TOO terrible.  Of course, we really don't know as of now, so we'll just have to take it as is.

But I don't want anybody to assume that Square-Enix will forsake Wii just because this underperforms in Japan; they still have Dragon Quest X on the Wii.

So 26 thousand out of 76.5 thousand. Not terrible for one day.

No, it's not terrible.  But it certainly isn't stellar either.  This is the sort of game that will be more of an "inbetweener" than a mainstream title--not a failure, but not a blockbuster either, just kinda like what I'd expect.

It really could have been a whole lot worse.  It's at least not as abysmal as the first day sales of Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games.  Maybe good word-of-mouth will help carry this game a bit more.  If not, there's always the overseas sales.

compared to the original CC... this is a BOMB

hello how are you.

Mario and Sonic at Winter games bombed??
