Hi, I started using component cables on my 1080p LCD tv becuase the HDIMI PINS input from the PS3 are damaged. Now that everything is set up, some games like FiFA 08, wolverine origins, can not display 720p they display 480i resolution but Call of duty: MW works perfectly like it used to with the HDMI.

The following demos that I checked and can not disply 720p are:

Brutal Legend

PES 2010

Wolverine Origins

A demo that can display 720p:

FIfa 2010

Blue Ray movies:

All displays 1080p

Does anyone know what's going on with my PS3?

did you enable all the output res in the menu?

set everything to 720p manual
if that doesn't work, your TV doesn't support 720p over component.

I thought that the only real problem with component was 1080p movies on blu ray will actually output at 1080i- which isn't a huge problem considering you tv will de interlace 1080i to 1080p.

If this the case I'm going to be very very angry with my brother in law because he damaged the HDMI input...!!!

It worked, I had to move the resolution from 1080p native to 720p, and know all the games looks crispy. Thanks!
