Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter 3 showing legs, sure to reach the million

Monster Hunter 3 is really starting to show legs as it seems to have stabilized itself at 5k/week. Here are the weekly sales since the release according to Famitsu. Just look at the last five weeks! Sales will also be up in December and with that I think it´s now safe to say that it will be a millionseller. The first ever for a thirdparty on a Nintendo homeconsole in Japan since SNES. And to think that some people still claim this is a flop. I will never understand it.

It has already shipped 1.1 million copies. There have been only a handful of cases in gaming history where a game has not sold all it shipped. ET for example I believe was dumped in landfills. It will certainly break the 1 million mark.

As for it being a flop, it has sold much more than the PS2 versions, and can't be compared to the PSP versions because it is pay to play. So yes, not a flop at all

Not to mention, there are 5 million more PSPs in Japan than Wiis.

Capcom will have most probably shipped another batch of copies (~100k or so)

MHtri3 is a HUGE success on Wii.

i heard they had shipped another 100k, they seem really happy

Gamestop has preliminary MH3 NA release in March so not too far off.

And yes people that called it a flop were just looking to stir up trouble rather than anything logical. 5k a week is pretty good but not great for legs. But we'll see what kind of boosts it gets in December.

5000 for a (now moderate on consoles) region is pretty decent.
