The lowest rated person on personal PSN Friend list is 1,200,000.

The game sold at least 1,200,000 first week on the PS3. I imagine 360 must be over 3million.

1.2 million accounts =/= 1.2 million sales.

You can register multiple accounts with a single copy of the game, one 1 console or on more in the case of rental games.

That said there will also be people who haven't played online yet

I'm not sure that counts for MW2, but it might.

Even then, its hard to imagine that too many people used multiple accounts.

in retrospect, my friend who just got the ps3 version of MW1 is ranked 4461466. meaning its pretty accurate no?
