I've got a well known and public hate for the PC version of MW2. Haven't played it yet though, but i've spent a couple of hours on my friends 360. And from my point of view, MW2's SP is shorter and weaker than MW1.

Multiplayer is basicly the same, console wise. Graphics are 0.5 above COD4, and the perks are a step back imo. They've added more, but its all public noob-friendly stuff. Review wise i'd give the console version an 8-8.5 overall, and a 6.5-7.0 for the PC overall, since this game is a MP game, and having a gimped version of MP in the PC world does not deserve anything above 7.

That is a fantastic review for playing the game at your friends house for 2 hours.  Very informative!

i gave the game a 7.5. the single player is downright horrible and the graphics are nothing awe inspiring. Now i no this was a multiplayer game, but after what i saw Uncharted 2 pull off, it set the bar pretty high for future shooters and sadly MW2 failed to reach that kinda level

If you are referring to those 5/10s from the metacritic website, and a few other sources, those are admittedly from the PC fans signing the anti MW2 petition mostly ran by bots. As far as people being dissapointed...this is one of the biggest games of all time, and one of the most hyped. It got amazing review scores, but like all popular games there will be a subculture designed to bash and discredit it, and this forum along with a few others, is their only outlet, so you won't get a fair sample. They tend to be more vocal.

Rest assured that you ARE in the minority of gamers that will consider themselves dissapointed in this game. The vast majority of the public are mind-numbed drones who will think any game that is actually good, is the second coming of god, and this game will live on in infamy through their praises.

The game itself is good, the graphics are fine(which seem to be the focus of your thread) but it isn't god incarnate, I don't know what you were expecting.

 


Not just on Metacritic, I've been going to a lot of different places,, and people are bashing the single player as well as the PC multiplayer, so this isn't just protest votes, a lot of people are disappointed in the game itself

Lack of dedicated servers, 9v9, lack of mods, P2P, solely mathmaking. How can multiplayer get any worse than this is the question. Doom 2 almost had better multiplayer than this pile o' shit

So a game could have the best shooting mechanics and gameplay in the world but if it doesn't have features that you deem important then its a pile of shit. Good to know.

i am dissapointed aswel, other games i have played are so much better.
im so annoyed as i really wanted to get into COD and when i do buy one is average game at best!
i loved KZ2 so much and this feels like a step back, and i also agree that i dont understand why people are giving graphics 10, there not that good, not even close in sole cases

I gotta say...this is inital impression...and keep in mind i am beyond drunk tonight and playing the game for the first time...i will say that i am somewhat disappointed in the game itself...though i have to say that it is probably due to the hype that i and others had for the game as well as my being pretty much trashed when first putting the game in the ps3 and playing it

I have had the chance to play both MW2 and the Wii Reflex and have to say Reflex is way better the controls are fantastic!
