Hype for Electronic Art's upcoming FPS, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, has been increasing by leaps and bounds as the game comes progressively closer to it's March 2010 release.  Just last week, EA and Sony announced a beta would allow PS3 owners to get some hands on time with the title as soon as next week, causing a fervor of excitement in the PS3 community. 

It seems this excitement isn't limited to just the gamers though, as even corporate EA is expecting the title to 'rival' Modern Warfare 2.  EA CEO John Riccitiello spoke very highly of the title during the Q2 investor conference call held earlier today

"I think [Battlefield: Bad Company 2] has every right to see itself as a rival to the number one FPS game that one of our competitors is releasing next week." Riccitiello stated, referring obviously to Activision's Modern Warfare 2.

With only a bit more than a week to go until the Bad Company 2 beta starts, gamers won't have long to weigh in on the matter themselves.  We're currently working on getting some beta codes for you guys, so make sure you stay tuned!

Is he serious? What did the last Bad Company sell again? Just under 2 million? He'll be lucky to have it's lifetime sales match MW2's opening week.

In terms of quality Bad Company 1, with all its problems, was still an amazing experience.

Bad Company 2 is going to be absolutely fucking amazing.

Yeah, after seeing that multiplayer madness from beta on gametrailers, it looks absolutly incredible.

It will probably be better than MW2 after all it's DICE, but too bad we still haven't got a real Battlefield game since 2005, oh well let's see what BF3 has to offer.

I saw the PS3 available videos and BC2 really RULEZ...
I want to feel the DEMO.. I didn´t bought BC1 as I din´t bought Killzone or Haze ..

MW2 I am sure to buy, RAGE I am sure to buy, but BC2 I need to fall in deep love from the DEMO..

Two things are annoying: my bad english and the HYPE that always come.. it´s funny how I believe in MW2 succes, as I still play COD4/MW unitl these days..

Since MW2 is having early release, BC2 will have a tougher time eh. These games look pretty similar to people who never played older versions of either game (like me).

Lets just wait and see how it plays first
