Ok, here's what happened. In the Sun today, the front page story was about Gordon Brown spelling the name of a British soldier who died wrong. The story was a scathing attack on the Primeminister, who made several mistakes in a hand written letter to the mother of the deceased soldier.

Now I know that making mistakes in a personal letter isn't particularly nice, but I think attacking him on it is out of bounds. For those of you that don't know much about Gordon Brown, he is technically blind. He has one glass eye and limited vision in the other, I bet to him writing a handwritten letter neatly is a real struggle. I say cut him some slack on that basis alone.

But I want to go further than that. A handwritten letter from the Primeminister is a nice gesture, he is one of the busiest men in the world. It would be very easy for him to give a pre-written "Dear John letter" from a computer, get an assistant to write it, or not even send one at all. But no, he sent a personal letter himself.

I think that it is a touching sentiment that a blind, extremely busy person took the time out to write a personal letter of condolence. I certainly don't think it is right to use this as a scathing attack against him.

The next thing that I think is bad is that the mother sold this to the Newspaper. Don't get me wrong I am very sorry for her loss and losing a child is always very hard. She has my deepest condolences. But I do think that it is wrong to sell the letter to a newspaper.

Anyway, that's my two cents, I just needed to get that off my chest. Rage over.

It's the Sun, what do you expect. They'll do anything to sell more papers. And they're owned by Rupert Murdoch if anyone was interested.

It's a small wonder that it's hard to find scrupulous, competent politicians when every little slip up and indiscretion is scrutinized, decried, and paraded around for all to see. Perhaps one day people will realize that their leaders are mortals and as such deserve a little bit of leeway for error.

I sure as hell wouldn't want a job with that many people breathing down my neck. To hell with whatever power, prestige, and money comes with it. There are jobs that offer all of that and let you keep your dignity, too.

A lot of people (including politicians) are saying that Gordon Brown is dyslexic, I wonder if it is true?

I've heard that.  It was mentioned back when Obama gave him a stupid gift.

Was it? Perhaps it could be true then, I'll have a look at older articles. If it is the case that he is dyslexic, then this article is really bad. Picking on the blind dyslexic man for his poor quality writing.

The problem would be solved if people stopped buying these crappy newspapers.

I think so... i've read it before and I don't remember many other times reading about Gordon Brown.

All I can find though is an event from earlier this year when apparently the Labour MP said Dyslexia was made up.

I guess he was doing it to attack what he saw as overfunding of it or something... I don't know... but Labor is supposed to be the left wing major party you have?  WTF?

Dyslexics can read... it's just a lot harder... and it's hard to fake the spelling errors dyslexics make.
