Forums - Sony - EyePet is a FLOP. Bad news for the Motion Wand Remote?

Eye Pet may have flopped, but this doesn't effect the Playstation motion controller directly. It just shows that Eye Pet isn't that popular. The only way we will know if the Playstation Motion Controller will flop is once its been out for a few months.

It may take a few months for casuals to discover and share the system with family & friends in turn causing more friends and family to buy into it like with the Wii.

Its true though that the success of the PS motion controller with casuals will rely heavily on a big games (like Wii Sports was) to help sell systems and motion controllers. Sony is going to need some killer motion games to attract the Wii only crowds.

Thanks for the first comment and you have a solid point sir.

But wasn't EyePet suposed to be an "introdution" to the PS3 new Casual Wave? If so, isn't it bad news for the Wand?

This thread is extremely premature.

How is it bad news for the wand if the game doesn't use the wand?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Ok, let's ignore and I'll bump it later folks.

Your also on the assumption that all games are front loaded.

Allow the game to sell for more than 2 weeks and in more than 1 territory before posting FLOP threads.

We see these way too often and quite a few times they come back to bite the OP in the butt.

Take the recent PSPGo FLOP threads for Japan for example.

Actually, I'll just lock this and you can recreate this if and when the game actually does flop and you can make some sense.

How is it bad news anyway? The game sold 30.000 units in its first week and another 33.000 units in it's second week. That's not bad at all for EyePet. If the sales from now on will fall like a rock, sure, than you might call it "a flop", but right now it's doing fine for a game that's targeted to the mainstream audience.
