Forums - Microsoft - Best Xbox 360 games?

I am planning on buying an Xbox 360 soon to play wiht my friends, but I can't thibk of that many games to buy! What are your guys top 20 Xbox 360 games? Please include 3 or FPS or 3rdPS. (exclude Halo, halo 2, gears of war, bioshock, the oragne box, blue dragon, viva pinata, elder scrolls oblivion, halo 3. I am planning on buying/renting these games already)

Thanks alot for your list. Also is Xbox live like MMOrpgs in that it is designed to be addictive? Becuase if it is, I probably shoudn't get a 360, based on my past expiernce with a certain MMO...

thanks for your lists!

I like Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

And it's not strictly a 360 game, but Ninja Gaiden Black for Xbox is crack in disc form.

You have to play Dead Rising. It's an absolute must-have for the system. Play this game. You will not be disappointed, unless you're a closet Communist or baby-eater.

A few others:

- Halo 3 (duh)
- Forza
- Gears of War
- Viva Pinata (a drastically underrated game)
- Blue Dragon (classic JRPG gaming)
- GRAW & GRAW 2
- Rainbow 6
- Orange Box
- Crackdown
- BioShock
- Saints Row
- Oblivion
- Kameo
- Condemned
- Guitar Hero II

I may be forgetting a few but those are good places to start and many of them can be picked up for <$20.

Yes definitely Dead Rising, my personal favorite. Its a platinum hit now, so its cheap too!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

thanks guys. what about beautiful katamri, sonic the hedghog (heard it was bad- is it worth a rent>) and eternal sonata? Those 3 games are up my alley, but im not sure if they are good. and what about xbox live? Is it engineered ot be addicitve like MMO's, or is it just stright online, like nintendo wifi connection?

Here's my site's take on BK. I've heard Sonic sucks ass but haven't played it yet.

My friend is lagging ass getting the ES rating up but I think he's hovering around an 8/10 on it last I heard. The combat system is good but the story exposition is long and boooooooring.

ES is ok, not a game im so happy of purchasing, but a good game none the less, like rocket said, the story can get rather boring at times

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I will name a game that no one has ... Test Drive Unlimited. I was in on the PS2 and PC beta and I love the game. It's a racing MMO - and based in Hawaii. It's sweet.

I also love Oblivion, Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, The Orange Box, Halo 3 (of course) but I would keep my eye out for Mass Effect and Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty 2 was awesome!!!!

ES is cool, but I'd wait for it to come down some in price ...

The sad thing is that apparently Folklore is even worse. My friend likes the combat but he literally fell asleep during one of the cutscenes. He woke up five minutes later to see his character just standing there.

That's pretty bad.

o i know, at least the cutscenes in ES are not that bad, sometimes the plot is bad, but the colors are so vivid and awsome. Def not boring, but not that great

combat can be fun though, though way to easy, but im still early in the game
