So even more proof showing less then zero credibility from almost major video game review site.

It's been getting very positive reviews from both the OXM and OPM, so that right there surprised me. Although i hope the game does well and i'll be picking it up, I think it's going to become a sell out game. Good find darth |
Of course OXM and OPM rated it high, otherwise they wouldn't have got a copy to rate.
You people are so naive, this is how the industry works.
When there is a hyped game, and somene rates it surprisingly high, the hype increases, the mag gets more sales, the site get more hits, and no one will call them out for it, because they know that every other reviewer has the same deal, so they won't end up with an unreasonably high rating. And as long as it is a kinda good game, the gamers will just assume that it is indeed the best thing since sliced bread. Super Mario Galaxy?GTA IV? World of Goo?
This mag just decided to speak about it, and get even higher sales.

@ Alterego
i agree mostly with thta but... World of goo? really? i wouldnt say that was particularly hyped, it only really got attention after the reviews started coming in

I'm not sure if the term "hype" can apply to released games, but that's what I meant.
While it is great, and everything, I have a feeling that it was mostly praised for representing innovation, than for the reviewers actually enjoying it that much. Even though there are lots of innovative indie games, the industry doesn't notice them until they get bored with grey shooters, and all start praising about one indie game in a year, (all the same one) just to sound more sophisticated.
