The difference between the Wii vs HD and the 360 VS PS3 situation is that the Wii has a long history of selling at rates high enough to reach that mark. Nintendo made some serious mistakes with late 2008 and early 2009 software, but now it's a matter of whether or not Nintendo can reignite that phenomenon.

Sure it will boost, but not 700k+.  That's some very inconceivable wishful thinking.  Also, of all the people on this website wanting GT5, didn't you notice how they all already have a PS3?  Sure I know as well as the next guy that the average consumer isn't on forums like us, but as I said, this late in the gen if people were going to get a PS3 for games yet to be released, theyd have it by now in most instances.

You can't take ban bets anymore, I don't think.

GT5 won't boost 700k units for one week.
Also bear in mind it's launching in Japan first, the worldwide later.
