Here is the thing the sony brand was so strong at the time i really think that it would have rode its heals through to a victory or a very close second place and with the much bigger install base mabey the motion control would be a much bigger thing this coming spring but then again there is good chance they never would have seen a need to have motion controls then and also the wii would not have been so strong it actually would have a competitor at least in shares mabey not the same fan base.

If the PS3 launched at $300 bucks, Sony would be financially bleeding out of their a-holes, but they would be comfortably sitting on about 40 million consoles sold right now and the 360 would be in third. It would not have surpassed the Wii cracked the mass-casual market. This is something Sony's never been able to do since they entered the market.

Well they would have to loose something like the cell which probably would have been fine and gone more along the lines of something pc friendly like xbox or just re did the ps2 arcitecture to go hd it would not have had to even be better than the 360 because we all know that the origional xbox looked better than the ps2 ninja gaiden any one

Sony would've never made the PS2 HD. They had too much riding Blu Ray. The original Xbox looked better than the PS2 but had no games compared, which is why Microsoft entered early and went for the games.
