"PC gamer knows he is a PC gamer. He spends money upgrading and will always do so. He will have on through any console generation. a console owner will likely not be upgrading his PC he uses for Internet Explorer, and Splinter Cell being on PC for example is not gonna make him change his decision about which console to own for what games."

My point was that console gamers may not even worry about current generation hardware. Saying that PC gamers constantly upgrade, or by extension that console gamers buy new consoles every generation is incorrect.

"By what you have written a thread like this PS3 vs 360 Exclusives is about only those consoles. And going by what you wrote I assume and the way it comes across is that your fine with putting Splinter Cell Conviction and FF14 on the list. As they are not competing with the PC market therefore in a market on ther own. ? I concur."

I asked you -- why does it matter if the markets are competing or not? I never said that it did/didn't matter, that's an inference you made.

LOL...Selnor...dude...I was asking about Xbox exclusives, not console exclusives.  I don't think the PC competes with the consoles directly, but I DO believe there is some indirect competition.  For example...Dragon Age Online was my MUST HAVE title for 2009...I got it on the 360...and I will on the PC as well...but the point is that the 360 "robbed" a sale from the PC...or better yet...delayed a sale.

Here is my opinion; The PS3 has a better line up than the 360. The Last Guardian, Agent, FF13 & Verses, Heavy Rain, WKC, Valkyria Chronicals 2, GT5 and God of War III are making me say so.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

Sorry for any confusion. What I meant was this:

A Pc gamer spends money upgrading his PC to play the new games. He has been doing this in many cases since the days of PC gaming when the Nes was around. Now in general a console gamer is less fussy. He will not be playing many games on PC outside the odd strategy game if any at all. And a game being 360/Pc or Ps3/PC is not going to make his choice of console when he wants to upgrade be worse. Because a PC Gamer has already bought the game if he wants it.

There are more than 10 examples in the last 2 years of games that are either 360/PC or PS3/PC where the console version accounts for between 80-90% of the sales. Now if that wasn't a console excluisve working for the benefit of the console I dont know what is. The 10-20% who bought on PC are most likely PC gamers who have been since 1995.

As a console gamer since the 80's and a PC gamer since the early 90's, i think that the market between the two worlds is irrelevant to the "exclusive" discussion...

If a game is on PC and a console (could be PS3 like DC Universe or 360 like Left4Dead), it's on both platforms, therefore is not exclusive... It doesn't matter if the console version sells a lot more (if that's the case, then Tekken 6 is still PS3 exclusive, or Lost Planet is still 360 exclusive), or if PC doesn't compete directly (handhelds don't do it also, but if PES 2009 were on 360 and PSP only, do you call it a 360 exclusive?), the only thing that matters is on what platforms the game can be played at (legally of course)...

That's why i fully support Naz's rule, it brings closure to this... Hey, I'm not even gonna use the term "exclusive" to announce or compare games anymore, i prefer to use "the game is on - platform(s) name(s)" - ...
-------------------------------------------------------------
Now, if the topic is about games that can be played on one platform that can't be played on the other (PS3 vs 360), that's true, i can't play Left4Dead on my PS3, or FFXIV on the 360 (at least at launch, like Tretton said)...

Ok, so the 360 only has four true exclusives next year. Now who gives a flying crap other than fanboys? We all know the console exclusives will be just as good, so really, I'm getting a bit tired of people insinuating that console exclusives aren't as good as true exclusives.

Yup 360's 2010 line-up is wayyy better then its 2009 line-up, but its not even close to PS3s. The Agent, Gran turismo 5, Final Fantasy 13, versus 13, Resistance 3, MAG, GOWIII, plus even more from Rockstar and Sony at E3

Ok, last I checked Final Fantasy 13 was also on the 360, Resistance 3 wasn't even announced, and there's no way in hell Versus 13 will see the light of day next year.
