No, it is not a huge difference. I literally have to look switch back and forth between them to see any difference. If I just look at one, close it, then look at the next the differences are so minute that they don't even register. If I hadn't played GoW since it was new and then played the remake I wouldn't notice at all. That's not huge. Huge is the difference between Resident Evil and REmake. This? This is minor.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

As said there is not a HUGE difference, infact they both actually look the same IMO.

The difference, I suspect, would only be apparent playing PS3 version vs playing PS2 upscaled to an HD TV - it's not going to be huge, but on an HD TV you should get smoother, better image, better AA, etc. plus sharper textures.

But anyone thinking they were going to re-do all the assets to a GoW3 level was kidding themselves.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

There is no difference other then the color of both sets are different, looks like they touched up the life/magic bar, but that's about it. Textures are the same, lighting is the same, models are the same, shadows are still a bit blocky.... yeah its the same.

I really don't know why people try to "compare" things by changing colors and resolutions, you know in science there is such a thing as a control, dear lord its a basic principal, you can't compare two sets unless there is a controlled variable, changing the color and then saying ZOMG LOOK HOW BIG THE DIFFERENCE IS, it's just unreliable data.

the one shot half way down of Kratos climbing the ropes is the most telling of the difference.
Trophies for both games would be my main factor in picking this up, as I already own the first 2 GOW's and a PS3 that is BC with PS2 games.

So, um, which one is the PS3 version again? The top or the bottom? I can't really tell the difference. I mean yeah there is some variation, but neither one actually looks "better".

difference is huge if you compare the pics in full resolution. Thats how it is.

Its obvious that the resolution makes it look far better.

Thats huge. This isn't a remake afterall. Far bigger difference than i expected.

the only difference I can see between these screenshots is colour variation, a video comparision is a much better example

Actually, the PS3 version is clearly sharper and higher resolution.  That's the point I think most are missing - the games been given a resolution hike, better AA, etc. so it will look smooth on an HD TV rather than jaggy, with sharper textures.  But looking at an image that size you're not going to see that well represented.  Zoom in on the images to get the real picture - oh, someone's already done that.

See?  This is about making the game HD in terms of resolution, AA, etc. not re-doing the core engine, etc. so the models and so forth are going to look mainly the same - but sharper.
