Is this anything close to Dragon Age? Sounds like it. Team build, RPG, chose your own story and stuff like that. Though ME is more of a shooter to where DA is more of a tactical RPG. Am i right?

Im downloading ME off of steam right now, they had a weekend deal for 7.49€ (10$ or so. )

You're in for a treat and it's quite good.

It's kindove a third person shooter/RPG hybrid.

lmao at the second video. The guy says they are "clean" as in they don't have weapons after shephard hands over his pistol but he still has a backpack full of firearms which is obviously shown throughout the video.

I'm still really, really hyped for this game, but I was kind of dissapointed in the gameplay shown in the videos. After playing Uncharted 2, the combat just seems too slow, and clunky.

I played Uncharted 2 for hours and it's very very very linear (you will always know where you need to go, it's more like a movie with puzzles and some action). Unchartad 2 is good game but it's not for me, I just don't like all those "Indiana Jones" actions. The real fact is that we can't compare both games in ANY aspect because they are very different. If you play the game you will see that it's not just an action game like Uncharted 2.

How does that have anything to do with my statement? I was comparing the combat which is simular enough to Uncharted to draw comparisons. Both are third person shooters which take advantage of cover and I was comenting on how clunky it looks in this game compared to the smooth movement and animations of Uncharted. I never compared stories or anything. I have played Mass Effect 1 and beat it twice by the way, and I never claimed it was just an action game. :P I for one will be playing ME2 for it's story mainly. But if a story is all I wanted I would watch a movie or read a novel and not play a video game. While I loved the first game's story, it really suffered in the gameplay department and it felt more like a chore then actually being an enjoyable game. This new one looks much better in every department and will be an incredible game. I just still think the gameplay looks pretty clunky. I love how much easier it is to tell your teammates where to take cover though. Huge improvement.

S.T.A.G.E.,

ME2 is too good to be compared to Uncharted 2?.....So now ME2 is too good to be compared to a game that has a 96 average on metacritic and has been hailed by both critics and gamers who have played it alike as one of the greatest games of this gen? Wow. Would you mind making a bet as to if ME2 will beat or even be equal with Uncharted 2's average? And I'd much rather play a masterpiece that is ten hours long then any lesser game regardless of length. Length does not equal quality. Uncharted has already been proven to be of the upmoast quality.

Sorry but did you REALLY played Mass Effect 1? It's NOT similar to Uncharted 2 (in any way)... just the idea that it mix RPG + shooter makes the combat system different from Uncharted 2.

@Edit: And even having a lot of bugs, look at the scores for Mass Effect, that's because the game is incredible, no matter what you say.

Uncharted was more of a linear thrill ride than a full on game bro. Mass Effect was a full game with lots with expansive worlds, weapons and choice. MGS4 was my second favorite game this gen behind Mass Effect, but not the most for its gaming quality, but the total cinematic and gaming package.  Mass Effect was the full effect gaming package period and part two will be that and then some. Uncharted 2 like MGS4 was more of a thrill ride. I notice this trend in most top PS3 games.

Then you wouldn't mind making the bet then. I mean, come on. It's not even a full game bro. Mass Effect 1 btw was an awful GAME. It had a great story with an incredible world but was one of the buggiest, slowest, most tedius and unfun games I've played. ME2 looks to be an incredible game, and I'm absolutley hyped. But GOTY? No. I don't even think it will be the best game of the first half of the year next year. As for best RPG? It's hard to say. Imo it will be. But with Fable 3, a new fallout, alpha protocol and many more coming out, who knows what critics will say. To me, and obviously you too though, ME2 is a shoe in for best WRPG of next year.

It's funny that the game was so great people overlooked the bugs to still give it a 9.0 or high 8's. It was also RPG of the 2007. There is no best WRPG of next year...there is only best RPG. ME2 will destroy all other RPG's next year and if you want to make a bet...this will be the easiest win yet.

Quit dodging my bet then. I mean uncharted 2 wasn't even a full game. Bet me that ME2 will beat Uncharted's metacritic average. You can even name the terms.

I am not dodging a bet. Second of all I've said I don't like Metacritic because people skew the voting scales over bias. The 360 fans do it to the PS3 fans and vice versa.

A F'n men

Ok, Mass Effect is only plays like a third person shooter, if you play as the soldier class which means you're going to be using guns almost all of the game. If you choose any other class, the game plays much differently, nevermind that NPC interaction and the levelling system makes it an RPG. How exactly is it a third person shooter?

Feros is far too early in the game to assume. My friend said the same thing and by the time he finished the game he was wowed. It's amazing you got the game on PC, because everyone claimed they fixed the glitches on the PC. Welp...I love my 360 version.

How in the hell did this become a Mass Effect vs Uncharted, Mass Effect 2 vs Uncharted 2 comparison - which is plain silly, unless you're talking about which genre you prefer.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

From Kotaku:

Mass Effect 2's New Helpers: While BioWare's Dragon Age people had no word for me about that game, their Mass Effect 2 people were able to clear something up. Omitted from my preview of the game this morning was a mention of the game's partner drones. I left them out of the write-up because I wasn't sure about a couple of details. Turns out, my notes were correct: The new game allows members of the player's party to use combat drones. These floating drones, which looked like balls of light in the build I saw, will seek and engage enemies. Some drones will seek biotic-based enemies. Others may attack tech-based enemies. I had seen one in action a few weeks ago during my most recent demo of the game. But, as of the writing of the preview this morning I didn't have all the details confirmed. So now you know of one new tactic available in the game.

Hm interesting.. I wonder if that's specific for engineer classes..

Truth does not fear investigation

still looks like it needs more polish.
the graphics were kinda dull during some points...
but the gameplay is still awesome.
gonna buy this for PC next year.
