Gameplay

Bloodlines is an action-adventure video game infused with stealth elements, in which the player primarily assumes the role of Altaïr as experienced by Desmond similar to that of the original Assassin's Creed. Unlike the previous Assassin's Creed spin-off, Altaïr's Chronicles, for the Nintendo DS, the game will feature a gameplay system similar to the original game where players are able to traverse an open world with nonlinear gameplay allowing players to free-roam the island at will. The stealth element of the game can be achieved by keeping out of sight of enemies and blending into the environment as well as entering hiding spots such as haystacks similar to the first game.

Plot

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines takes place before the events of Assassin's Creed II but after the events of the original Assassin's Creed. The game is set on the island of Cyprus where players would take on the role of Altaïr, the original main character in Assassin's Creed. Altaïr has travelled to Cyprus from the Holy Land which was the setting of the first game in order to assassinate the last remnants of the Templars which is the premise of the game. The game will be used to explain the link between the three main characters in the Assassin's Creed series: Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad, the player character of Assassin's Creed, Desmond Miles and Ezio Auditore da Firenze (the player character of Assassin's Creed II, descendant of Altaïr). Bloodlines includes more face time with the female Templar that was spared by Altaïr in Assassin's Creed.

Connectivity

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will feature exclusive connectivity with the PlayStation 3's version of Assassin's Creed II, it was revealed at the E3 2009 that by connecting a PSP to the PlayStation 3, six exclusive and unique weapons can be unlocked on Assassin's Creed II as well as on Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

Entertainment Pack

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will be released together with an Assassin's Creed Entertainment Pack, it is a bundle which includes the game itself, a white PSP-3000, and a 2 GB memory stick.

I myself, can see this game as a "sleeper hit" for the psp. I don't think anyone expected this to be as good as the previews say it will be. It's essentially the original assassin's creed, just on a smaller scale. Below are some pics and an IGN preview of the game. Enjoy and discuss sales predictions :)

I'm quite looking forward to this game myself, but I will be busy playing AC II when this comes out. I don't know why they are releasing them on the same day, who is going to be playing Bloodlines over II

Hopefully this sells well, for a PSP game.
