Forums - Sales - Ratchet and Clank Future; Eye of Judgment Selling Well?

I'm going to have to say that both R&C and EoJ are selling well. According to the manager at my local EB games when I picked up my R&C (was going to get EoJ but shipping error around entire county so no place including Walmart has the game till tomorrow =/) The store managers said that R&C received 104 preorders at that store and the one in the mall about 30 miles away got 127 preorders. EoJ received 98 preorders there and the one in the mall receieved 104. These numbers are shockingly more then I was expecting. I have no idea if these numbers are nation wide or not but for a county like mine with 35k people in it and the mall which takes in only about 75k of people between two counties (the larger mall is 59 miles away and is way way larger) these numbers are truly shocking. Apparently the EB Game also sold 15/19 PS3s they had in stock o.O

This is going to sound negative, but if Ratchet and Clank is selling at a similar rate to Eye of Judgement I would be very worried ... Eye of Judgement seems like too much of a niche product to sell on any wide scale

just watched a games program this morning and they only gave eye of judgement 1 out of 5. Their comments were by the time you got used to the rules etc the novelty had wore off but they had no doubt a small minority of card collecting people would enjoy it.

Those people that think they're perfect give a bad reputation to us who are...

"With the DS, it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen, but I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that." - Phil Harrison, Sony

What surprises me is that i've seen commercials for Eye of Judgement. Yet not Ratchet and Clank.

Granted the adds for Eye of Judgement were on at 3 in the morning and they were 15 second spots... but still.

It's getting more advertising around here then any other PS3 game except for Heavenly Sword. (Granted, that means some... instead of none.)

I'm not a big fan of the adds though. The voiceover guy talks too fast, it seems like they tried to hard to cram everything in too fast. I think they woulda been better off taking their time, explaining their prouct and buying 30 second spots.

I'm not surprised the eye of judgement is selling very well, you get the camera and a game for the same price as a normal game, once all the mini games start hiting the PSN i would expect sales to go up aswell. Plus the PSeye can be used for voice chats during games instead of a headset. Sounds like a good deal to me. The PSeye for the PS2 sold over 4mil i think.

Yes, but mainly in Europe. Eye Toy was a big hit here. Don't know if the Eye of Judgment has the same appeal on the European market. I wouldn't wonder on high sales for the Eye in the first week because of high preorders, but i think the second week will be hard. If the game is good, I think it can sell by mouth to mouth and establish legs.

Infact after seeing it again, they don't even mention the PS3 in the main add... or that it would need the PS3 to work until the bumper at the end where they say "PS3 software" in an even quicker voice then the main add/

We'll, we will see the sales figures soon enough. It will be a good boost to Sony if both titles do well. Remember that we are heading into the holiday period AND the new PS3 models/price cuts are out.

If PS3 software is ever going to do well... its now :)

The PS3 has a higher software attachrate according to the official Sony and Nintendo numbers and that even includes wii sports/wii play, so i think the PS3 software is doing fine.

The heavenly sword gameplay ad is awsome, its a b3yond commercial.

OT:

Ratchet hasnt come out everywhere yet, thats why they dont advertise. October 30th + is when they will advertise, IM getting it by that time. I cant get it since I just bought a new psp :s
