Forums - Gaming - I can't bring myself to trust Sony anymore

are you talking about the typo, or the number 7.....because I also know what writing "7" means on this website; that darthdevidem01 is going to post shortly.

I'm just jealous that the OP has a copy of Einhander and I don't.

Perception is just as important as reality in making judgements.

Out of this entire thread, I just had to point out the stupidest statement I've ever heard. Making judgements based off of perception is something a total idiot does, because you lack the facts and therefore lack the ability to come to a logical conclusion.

And you show your extremely limited intelligence by saying this. How do you 'know facts'? Do they just pop up in your head? Because if so, that's pretty incredible. Last I checked, most normal people learn through reading, or hearing, or some other form of perception. Further, different people can read or hear the same 'facts' and perceive them differently. And judgements aren't always about facts, or even logic. Before you come here bashing, or flaming, or whatever it's called, make sure you do some thinking, it might do you some good.

@playstaiongamer

Half of the stuff on your list hasn't even been mentioned here. So, read the entire thread before making baseless claims please? I thought that's a part of trolling itself? I don't know though, I don't usually do forum stuff.

Anyone that's actually been following this thread should notice that I am listening to what people are saying, and am gladly admitting some of the points I made in the first post are unfounded and incorrect.

@caz, very true, it is hit or miss. I guess the reason I created this thread was to hear people's experiences with Sony (and got some with M$ too).

And no really, we have to stop talking about Einhander, it's driving me crazy to play it haha.

yes, you've been very gracious and understanding in hearing our opinions, but you have to realize that the "flaming" is what the thread warrants.

Trolling, is posting material that gets people upset, for the point of receiving responses. The word comes from 'trolling the waters', as in fishing. You put some 'flamebait' on the hook, and wait for a response.

Even if your point was just to ask about people's experiences with Sony, it was poorly worded for that motive, as it came off more as a sales pitch with evidence coming in the form of unproven examples and heresay.

But I welcome you to vgc, you seem to be more level-headed and experienced than I was when I first started.

Yeah it probably was poorly worded -.- especially since it's not like I trust any of the companies that much, nor do I intend to discredit Sony.

Though I disagree on one thing, I don't think any thread beyond 'X brand/company sucks!' warrants flaming. It's just offensive, and rude, and while I know people like their little cushion of anonymity, that still doesn't justify the way some people act. There have been plenty of people in this thread that have nicely and logically countered just about every part of my main post. I don't think courtesy is too much of a thing to ask in a forum.

flaming even happens in congress and the UN. Forums are only ever polite if everyone already agrees with each other.

Why is it i never have any of those updates issues, what the hell do some of you download on to the hdd to mess it up so badly.

OP If you are out of warranty you pay, simple fact in life. I got to pay $1000 for a new clutch, Toyota sure as hell wont pay that for me.

MS did not own up to anything, they never said what exactly was wrong and how they fixed it, and its still an issue.

Wow what's this? Are people trying to make you own a ps3?

Perception in the absence of facts is a viable argument, but perception is never as important as reality. A perceived truth is not the same as an actual truth. Also, judgements must be based on logic and facts if you are going to create a convincing argument for them. How you interpret the facts is a perception of the reality, which is entirely different from perception itself.

Also, I am not bashing you, I am bashing your argument. Perception leads to stereotypes, and stereotypes are most often used when there's an absence of knowledge.
