Ok Kotick so what about dropping the PS3 support? Come on, do it, grow some balls.

Uh oh. Activision may have to "drop support" for the Wii, unless Nintendo does another price cut!

What would that involve, unmaking games that came out a year ago?

I hope you realize I'm making fun of Kotick's past statements with that post, and not being serious.

What's with the comments like this? Kotick threatened to drop support - if Sony didn't drop the price. Well, Sony dropped the price.  Obviously, Kotick's threat worked and Sony buckled under the pressure.

Note - that last part was a joke. Honestly though, the snide comments about Kotick's threat are completely illogical. It comes off as nothing but sour grapes.

Sony's price drop didn't change anything yet for Activision, those figures would have been the same without the slim.

And what does that have to do with daring Kotick to drop PS3 support now after he got the price cut he asked for?

Kotick's comment was an empty threat; we all know that. The man is known for saying outrageous things - he's probably the most hated figure in the entire gaming industry right now. However, I'd think the time to make fun of that threat was before the price cut happened.

Whew.  So many insane people on VGChartz.  You can't be too careful. =)

Technicalities...lol..kinda like Howie say he'd lose money on a price cut, and how that didn't make sense....a few months later...whammo...price cut, and it's cheered, by the same people who were defending his stance months earlier.

Lol whatever.  The guy is a complete chucklehead, with utter lack of regard for his employees and customers.  I guess he's "loyal" to his stockholders... except that he's so near-sighted, that his company's stock screams "sell me short!" pretty much every day of the year.

I call that an open invitation to fun-making, at all times. =)  I will clap when I see him booted, although I will be sad for all the people whose jobs he wrecked along the way.  When the giant pillow of WoW, CoD, and GH (non of which were created when Kotick was there) starts to deflate, Activision will fall over like a ton of bricks.  Kotick tramples creativity.  He runs a business only, and I doubt he's inspiring enough to replace good people when they leave -- which they will.

He runs the largest and most successful gaming shop...that's his street cred, how does that compare to his critics?

I see him as more of getting on a train that was on the right track (as the chief engineer), and now he's doing his best to derail it.  Unknowingly, of course.  I'm sure he thinks his approach is best.  He's not evil... just destined for a train wreck.

I like to poke fun at him because, frankly, the game industry would turn sour real fast if all execs thought like he does, and that bothers me... alot.
