Nope. MW2 will help the 360 get back on track, then the 360 will come back steadily during the Christmas season. The PS3's sales will slow down. You're expecting a miracle if you expect the gap to 3M by the end of Jan. It's sad enough that the gap is at 6.76. The PS3 has sold very well, but where the great demand? The PS3 is at a truly affordable price now. Just like 2008, if the PS3 breaks down the lead to 5 million consoles, Microsoft will take it from there like they always do. Both systems will have amazing games coming out in 2009, but no game will be bigger than Halo Reach guaranteed. That my friend is a console seller. GT will give the PS3 a good push as well, but it wont do the numbers that Halo will.

What makes you thinking Christmas season is going to bring higher boost to X360 than for PS3 ?

That could have been true in 2008 when price difference was big  between lowest priced X360 model and PS3. Don't expect similar sales pattern this year. Especially when X360 has no exclusive software of the size of last year Gears 2 now.

^ On top of that, GT has a better chance of boosting HW than Halo: Reach, IMO, since we've had a proper Halo this gen.

It wasn't a console seller and it ain't Halo Reach. I am sure Halo Reach isn't a side story. The game looks freaking amazing already. They finally revamped the graphics. People are going to see true power in the 360 with a game made for the console.

Do you remember the amount of sales the 360 had over PS3 when PS3 launched?
