Video: Sony preps Natal beating motion tech

Sony’s been showing off its own Minority Report style motion tech that’ll have the bods behind Project Natal looking over their shoulders. It’s the stuff of sci-fi wet dreams.

Sony might be busying itself with the PS3 wand but Sony’s latest tech demo revealing some Project Natal rivaling skills could very well find itself in front of PS3 consoles.

As seen in the video above the new tech will let users interact with images on-screen without daubing it with fingerprints like the Microsoft Surface. It’s incredibly impressive and looks like it works a treat.

The demo shows it working on a table but there’s nothing to stop Sony making it work with gaming. And it looks like Sony may just do that. A demo (an admittedly less impressive one) towards the end of the vid shows it being used for gaming.

Hit the vid above to check out. It may just be the future of PS3 gaming.

I like the surface tables, but probably not for gaming.

MS shown this years ago, and has been selling them too.

Natal beating? I guess that must go to show that natal is feared by a lot of people.

I think Microsoft has had something very similar to this in development for a while. I will try and find some links to it later. I do think that this product is pretty neat. But its not going to work well for gaming, IMHO.

imagine playing LBP and the character's face changes based on your expression. that would be amazing!

damn,that's impressive

Sony has the tech to dominate just about any market, they just don't know how to implement it the way apple does. Or maybe they aren't willing to take the risk.

Plenty possibilities for PS4, but they got to find a path and follow it.

Wow, that first part was a total surface knockoff, which MS first showed years ago. As for the game shown at the end, I just have to laugh at the notion that it's better than natal.
