it won't be called xbox 3 because that's less than 360, and more importantly less than ps4. Like someone said before it was called 360 because they didn't want to give the appearance of it being inferior to ps3

It's called the 360 because they didn't want to call it Xbox 2 as the Playstation 3 was coming out and they thought that people would see the two and think that the xbox 2 was from last gen having 2 in the name and that 3 was the current gen machine.
