Because Uncharted 2 got a 1010, only a game with a 1010 can be GOTY

I never saw that in the official GotY handbook 

 

I figured as much when I saw this thread. The first thought that came into mind was that somebody was creating this thread just to praise Uncharted 2. This actually makes me sad

In my own lazy way, I sort of feel like I explained, only a game that gets a score of 10\10 could be game of the year, because, as I stated, score = #1 proirity for game informer. I really feel that U2's closest competitor is MW2, but I feel that it will get nocked down at least .25 points because of the lack of DS on pc.

And yes, the only true way to decide is after the year ends, but I want you to predict.

While I disagree with your opinions, I am glad you have them

There is no handbook

When gameinformer stated GTA4 as GOTY, they recieved a letter saying that LBP or fallout should have been, because more people put those games in the top 10. GI said that the top priority is the initial review score. Sorry that I made you sad, I really didn't feel like thats what I was doing

Oh wow... btw this post gave me quite a laugh.  It's really quite hilarious that people are so far extreme in their positions that anyone that slightly disagrees with them must and of course is a idealized enemy.

Well considering that is how you think it would be done, a lot of review sites/magazines, like to take their best reviewed game, put them in a pot, and decide on a level there.  I don't think it is a great way of doing it but because games are usually reviewed in relation to their platform I'm assuming this is the only "fair" way to do it.  But I still have my grievances with the system.

It's not cuz u disagree. It's cuz I know from your posts from the past how you react, depending on which gaming platform is being discussed. If a neutral person posted exactly what you did, I wouldn't have said anything

I doubt you know anything about my posting history otherwise you wouldn't have come up with that answer at all.  And seeing that you have made 142 posts I think I have better evidence.  Actually I have more evidence to support why you would have responded to me this way than you to respond to me the way you did.  

But don't you think your efforts to stop bias would be put at better use onto someone who is ACTUALLY BIASED AGAINST THE PS3.  Of course you think I'm a 360 fanboy which is even further off base if I were to be associated in any such category.  Now if you would like to politely ask that would probably be better but until then your base assumptions are getting you nowhere.

Pick your battles because you are not in a position to do that here.  Now I can understand you are "new" here and simply going off a "feeling" rather than evidence and I can understand that.  But if you truly want to know how I post or how I do things then I suggest you ask rather than assume.  I bet you would be quite surprised.  I do have a PM box.

Probably Uncharted 2 but, they gave the first modern warfare a 10 so modern warfare 2 will probably follow. I could go either way.
