So last week Tuesday I called up my usual store. Told them that I wanted to order Tekken6 for PS3. For ages they've been getting their stock on Thursday but as it turns out they've switched to Tuesday a few weeks back. I made this call on Tekken6's launch day so I figured I wasn't getting it till Wednesday the folllowing week. So I said Ok, gave them my phone number and and name and asked when I can expect the game. They told me what I thought. Wednesday as they will receive it Tuesday. So I wait a week. Went there today. What a surprise, "we're sorry. We'll be getting it next week."... I managed to scrap up 84$ including 58$ my mother owed me [she only gave me 50...] and 16$ My mom's shop employee was nice enough to give me [She wuv's me ^_^] and walked into that store fulling prepared to lay 100USD on the table for game that should have been released in 2007.
Knowing the store's track record, I figured I wasn't gonna get it for weeks... sad part is my mother took a trip to the US this morning... I could have asked her to get it for me like I did wit Demon's Souls but I figured I'd get it earlier if I went with this store...
So I just sighed and said ok. Suddenly the woman at the counter has the balls to ask me if I wasn't interested in an NBA game... I've been a customer there for over 5 years. She knows damn well I don't play sports game. I look at their selection and I notice that 80% of it is sports, shooters, a few action games and a large amount of Street Fighter 4 and King of Fighters copies. It was official.... the store had been Bahamianized*....
I left and went to store number two. Nothing. Also Bahamianized... 10% of their stock were story driven games or games that most of us on the internet would consider interesting. The other 90%... Sports, shooters, 2d fighters.
[I find nothing wrong with any genre but I hate the fact that the stores hardly bother to diversify their stock... Their are a few exceptions. They know there are some games that they have to stick, simply because they know they will sell... like Mario, Pokemon and Final Fantasy.]
So I'm pretty pissed and about to leave when I notice two game. Uncharted for 80$ and Uncharted2 for 90$. Two games that I've been planning to get and really want to play, but I only have 100$. I figured to take Uncharted from the situation since it's 30bucks US and I can get it later for much cheaper than 80 because of that. I call up my bro and tell him about the situation. Uncharted2 now, or Tekken6 (hopefully) next week. *looks at his computer monitor* Update 1.01 for Uncharted2 just finished installing. Time to play
