If they lower the price till it is the same price as dvds then I may start buying them . But I see no reason why I would pay more just for a little better picture -_-

3x better picture and HD, lossless sound. There's a lot more to BD than the picture boost.

From what I have seen there wasn't that much of a difference, and what is "lossless sound"?

Get yourself to an Optician my good fellow.  And open your ears while you're at it!

Lossless sound is uncompressed and therefore losses nothing in playback.

As for visuals, sure, some cheap crap film isn't going to look that much better on BR, in fact it may look worse, but any film with decent cinematography looks much better (well, on a decent HD TV it does).  And as for films like 2001, Blade Runner, etc. they look sublime, heavenly and lovely (in that order too).

So now I have to buy a new T.V., go see a optician, and pay an extra $10 for Blu-ray discs? That is way to expensive I'll stick to standard DVD's thank you

ahh no wonder you like 3 dot heroes so much, your still stuck in 1998..

Truthfully Best Buy has no choice BUT to aggressively merchandise Blu Ray. Digital downloads and services like Netflix are on the rise, but those are of no benefit to a brick and mortar retailer like Best Buy. In fact, they are a direct threat. So this is no surprise, as the more they push Blu Ray the more it serves their interest.

i love my expanding blu-ray collection. just have to look for sales, because the price of the movies are still too much for me. i think all blu-ray movies should be $19.99 and no higher.

My store recently expanded our blu-ray section (i'd say it's 2-2.5 times the size it was before).

My BB has about 35-40% of the movie section dedicated to Blu-ray movies. If they can get B&M Blu-ray prices to below $25, sales would probably explode. Right now, Hardware is doing just fine but software is still lagging for how much BD hardware is out there.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

@dsister, no wonder you didn't see much difference. You don't have an HDTV!! Kind of easy to see why you didn't see a difference. And if you say you didn't see a difference after watching it in the store or something, then I'm not even going to waste my time.

I have an HDTV. I even have my PS3 plugged into it with an HDMI cable. I just don't have one over 40in

Rise of the Fallen was only $20 on Blu-Ray, this is really good news.

@Pharaoh: Actually I hate when some stores show blu ray in the stores since a lot of them use too small of tvs or they don't optimize the picture. I LOVE blu rays, even when they only digitally scrub a movie and don't remaster it like they should (for older movies). A movie that you can tell they spent a little time with considering how old it is and the types of cameras they used back then is "The Last Starfighter", I was very impressed with the job they did on it.

Blu rays are coming down slowly, the key is watch Amazon and a couple other reputable online sites, they have sales for blu's down around $14-$19.

Blu ray picture quality is INCREDIBLE and the sound is amazing!
