MS doesn't allow user created content? Then please explain why there is a massive community making Halo 3 maps? Far Cry has tons of user created maps too.

There is tons of user created content on the 360.

They are generally less friendly with it, and UT III PC mad mods couldn't be transferred to the 360, but they could to the PS3

Maps aren't the same as mods. As far as I'm aware the map editor uses assets and content the developers and MS have pre-approved (kinda like LBP on PS3). Mods tend to have new models, textures, artwork, skins and can even involve changes to the code. MS prefer to keep Live closed to this kind of content as they have no control over it. Sony on the other hand appear to be more open to it as Munkeh has mentioned here with UT3.

Wow, that will be a smart move if Sony and Bioware come to an agreement. Being able to use the PC mods in the PS3 version will be a huge step forward into bringing more and more User content into the console RPG world ;). If this would have been done a couple of years ago, I can imagine the 15 GB of mods I have for Oblivion on my PS3, making it the ultimate Oblivion version ever xD

Don't you just love Mods? I have a lot on Oblivion as well, it has the best mods ever lol.

Oblivion has some superb mods, especially FCOM+Warcry xD Also MM and the Hunger mods are two of my favourites as well

The article doesn't indicate this as a PS3 exclusive though. Seems likely to be for PS3 and XBOX 360 should they decide to go through with it.

The VP of BioWare stated only PC/PS3. I'm not saying 360 won't see the best mods that are made, only that PC/PS3 will see more mods. Maybe some that are stupid maybe some that are to sexual that wouldn't go to the 360 because MS won't allow it.

Yes, but the interviewer only asked abotu PS3, he didn't ask about the 360. The VP didn't say 'we are looking to bring the best user-created content from the PC to PS3 exclusively'.

Maybe if the interviewer asked about bring such content to the consoles, and didn't just ask about PS3, we would know.

I use body replacer and clothing mods lol.  I want to try some of the bigger ones like other worlds or the rebuilt Kavatch (sp) but I'm still iffy about bigger mods.

You should try rebuild of Kvatch, it's really good and it gives you a longer history span in Kvatch as well. Have you tried Oscuro Oblivion Overhaul? It's the best mod ever :)

No I haven't tried it, I'll look into it.

If PS3 had mods and 360 didn't then I'd see that as a big difference - which seems to be what you're asking. I'm not sure though how many people would go to the trouble of using a PC to get mods on PS3 (based on Unreal Tournament 3) but I guess with this title that's hard to estimate.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

The rebuilt Kvatch mod is quite good although it can take a while before the next quest comes along. The bigger mods do work and the mod community usually picks up on incompatable mods. I also recommend the Archaelogy Guild mod and the Kumiko manor mod. A promising one that I've just loaded is Elsweyr. It opens up a large new section of map (mainly desert) and allows the riding of Elephants! Basically, large mods are fine.

@Scoobes

Wow, Didn't knew about Elsweyr mod being completed, i'll give it a try XD Archaelogy Guild is also good, but since most of it has been adapted in FCOM, I haven't loaded it in a while.

I hope DA:O adds mods to the PS3 version !!!

regardless of which console it applies to, adding mods to console titles is huge for the console market in terms of RPGs that are traditionally PC titles.
