Forums - Website Topics - Game database ratings off?

I've been thumbing through the game database, mostly looking for corroboratory sales evidence. One thing that I have found instead is almost polar opposite game ranking scores from every other site on the net. At first I thought this was just an oddity, but then I noticed somethingl. On the slide rule for each game, the scores are ranked from left to right, 1-10. When you are selecting the actual score for the game though, the scores flow from left to right, 10-1. This, when combined with the red-blue gradient accompanying the rating selection may be confusing people. I say this, because popular titles are being rated 1/10 by multiple users. Just see Rallisport Challenge 2. Am I reading these scores wrong?

If multiple users are submitting scores despite not comprehending Arabic numerals, perhaps we would be better served by a method for filtering out their opinions.

If its rated low its probably on a Sony platform XD.

Just ignore the ratings on this site, a few extremely biased users have been abusing the system. Ioi is planning on sorting this out soon I think.

Okay, but wow I'm surprised that a few people could mess with so many games. Just check out the Genesis or Saturn libraries, it's like some kind of bizarro world thing.  ;)

I think it's possible to rate a game more than once for each person, thus most games get a mass of ratings of at 10 or 1. (which is why no game has got over a score of 9)

The best thing you can do is take the GT3 score to the official sony site and beg guys to give it 10, Gt3 would be #1 at the end of the day, thats the only way to fix what the wii fans have done.

I had no idea that this site's population of visitors was so dominated by Wii fans.  I have no intention of promoting games to artificially increase their scores, if this is what others have done they have done the gamer community a diservice.  ioi, you don't think that this skewed ranking of games on the site will create a lack of credibility?

Probably nobody who's opinion matters, sure.  Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I just compared the Sega console lists to the SNES, N64 and Wii, and I'm not noticing a slant towards the Nintendo consoles.  Too many games are scoring below 5/10, many as low as 1/10 that should be the opposite.  Because of this, I'm not sure this isn't caused by confusion from the flip flopped rating scheme.  The only evidence that it's Wii fans is the few perfect rated Wii games, but plenty of others are scored fairly low.
