Yeah this event happened in the spring of 2007, after the Wii was released but people were having a hard time finding them. One heck of a necro topic

This is about 2 years old, but it's been a while and it's always useful to re-iterate that anything can be badd for you in excess.

well, this is the first i heard of it and the article says it was written Nov 2 2009 which is today.  i think it is the lawsuit that has come to completion today.

are we sure?  well, this is the first i heard of it and the article says it was written Nov 2 2009 which is today.  maybe it is just the lawsuit that has come to completion today???

It's definitely old news, like bardicverse said, it happened in 2007, dunno why that article would be written now...

water toxicity???

Somebody can explain me how can that happen?

Get "poisoned" by water!??!?! x_x

Look up "Hypotonic cells." Ultimately, your cells take in too much water and burst. Enough bursting results in death.

Yep, I remember that story. Thanks for the follow up on the court ruling. Even if she did sign a release, the disc jockeys should have not performed the stunt. It was stupid since they knew it was harmful.

Isn't this like really old?

haha, in before my post edit of me checking the article's intent.  well played. xD

Yeah we all read about this years ago, but that was right after the death, this is news again because the trial just ended LAST WEEK.

GOOD NEWS. Horrible story. Yeah they were all dumb for entering the contest, but the article makes it clear that the radio station was being told by several people it's a fatal mistake and they weren't passing the life-saving information along to the contestants because it would be inconvenient for them to call off the contest in the middle of it.

how dumb do you have to be for continuing to drink when you say "it hurts" halfway through?

I don't get why the familly gets a compensation.
The radio should pay to the state and the employees should be trailed for homicide by negligence (or whatever you have in the US), but in no way should the familly be compensated for the woman being stupid... Heck, do gun companies have to pay compensation every familly of people who shoot themselves accidentally?

I hate how everything is solved by money...
