Forums - Microsoft - MS to remove Party Chat?

KylieDog said:
This is great and should be mandatory for all games.

You join a multiplayer game with a mic you should damn well use it to communicate with your team, not someone playing a different game entirely.

Hate to be rude, but anybody who says this must not have friends that often play differant games than you.

@ CGI - I think you are defending a person with a clear-cut history of dissing the 360. You can try and defend him, but his MO is bashing LIVE and the 360. Until he does otherwise, folks will think his posts and threads are sketchy at best.

If want to be social with your friends then join their game.   Being a drag to the team of the game you are playing is not the way to go about things.

Come on man, when did you forget gaming is for fun.

Guuhh, so many people are taking the thread title and pegging that on the OP as his "statement of fact" while i do not doubt he is grinning gleefully at the fact that some games may not have the option (due to his obvious bias in other places) I have to give him credit for actually using a bit of common sense in his commentary at the end of the article...PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE THREAD TITLE. You will only make yourself look like an idiot if you do.

^ I doubt it will be removed completly, but like they said (if true), that MS has given developer the Option to exclude it. But i think everyone, well most anyway, see the upside of party chat.

So i think its more software related (games) than Live itself.

This.  I wonder how many people actually read the article, and how many are just reacting to the title...

Exactly. They wanna crucify him before reading further....

OT: I doubt they'd do it too.

He even ignored my comment, which most likely was true.

I ignored your comment because it was an obvious attempt to derail this thread and make it about PS3 vs 360.

But to answer your question, i Care because i feel its a stupid thing to do. Anything stupid that affects gamers and removes features I, myself, would like the 360 to still have once i get my 360 this Xmas, is of my concern.

Too much focus on finding trolls in these forums as of late, that people forget that its a gaming forum first and foremost. And we like games, and we're here to discuss games. And as for me having some sort of history of bashing 360, pelase quote me and PM me the hate, and i'll gladly apologize if i hurt someones feelings.

According to joysticradio.com

!It has been confirmed that you can NOT Party Chat in all Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Playlists. You may still Party Chat in these Playlists however:

* Mercenary Team Deathmatch
* Free-For-All
* Third Person Teams

Here is a list of the Playlists you may not Party Chat in:

* Domination
* Ground War
* Demolition
* Sabotage
* Headquarters Pro
* Search & Destroy
* Hardcore Search & Destroy
* Capture The Flag
* Team Deathmatch
* Hardcore Team Deathmatch
* Third Person Cagematch

........

Third Person Cagematch? :D Whats that? MW2 goes UFC!

^^So probably ranked and unranked?

^ Seems about right. Still think its a strange move though, the whole realism approach, instead of enhancing teamplay and the competetive side of the game. But i guess this games plays alot different on Consoles vs PC.

I'm not sure if I like what infinity ward has done, but it's there game and they have the right to set it up whatever way they want. I can understand their thinking since party chat during ranked matches really is cheating, it was just cheating that couldn't be enforced.

I always enjoyed being in party chat especially in gears, since it seemed to help speed up matches.

In his defense, you do have a spotty history on certain aspects of things. May I remind you that your thread title is very misleading and to some (who don't bother reading your commentary) could be seen as trolling.

Anyway, I don't think it's a stupid thing to do, it gives the devs more choice, and it won't really affect too many people in terms of gameplay.
