It was jealous of your 360. It wanted to play Magna Carta II with you. =(

i love my 80GB it has backwards... and no big deal about the saves, i had them all on back up ever since i heard about makingmusics issue, the REAL question i want to know is will all my bought PSN games still be in tact?

As long as you didn't give out your sign in to your friends, you will be able to download all the things you bought on the PSN.  So you won't loose any of those games.

You can download them up to 5 times.

Sucks to hear your PS3 got YLOD. This is the first I've heard about an 80GB getting the YLOD.

Fair enough.

So its not even worth fixing? from what i heard it just messes up later with the same issue...

Your best bet is to eBay it, you can get $60-$100 for it depending how lucky you are (and you will probably get a better number since yours has BC).

call sony or save up and buy a PS3 slim...

One question, was your PS3 fan noisy before it YLOD'd?

So theres no way around it...?

no.

You could try gophermods.com, I had a power supply die on me and sent it to them for repair. Took like 3 days for shipping and they sent it back next day and 3 days back, excluding weekend of course. Prepaid shipping was $15, so for YLOD it would be $85 total cost. Mine is a 80GB b/c as well and didnt want to send to sony as they will tell you they are pretty much guaranteed to erase your HDD, even if there is no reason to. So all your data should be fine if you try that site, unless the YLOD somehow messed up your HDD, which it shouldnt have.

YLOD destroys the HDD, I lost all my saves.

I didn't knew...

Well now that really sucks.

I lost my game saves as well when I sent the PS3 for repairs due to YLOD. The HDD was working fine, and they even sent me the same hard drive back. Sony must've erased it for security reason and whatnot.

@Seraphic, sell it on ebay and buy yourself a slim. It's bound to happen with your PS3. MY 60GB broke down twice in a matter of months.
