Am I going crazy or did PS3 get a price cut recently? And it drops 12% in sales?

I think Nintendo is increasing Wii supply to counter X360's increase in sales.

when was the cut? The data is only until the 20th. Didn't the cut happen on the 20th or 21st or something?

80 gig dropped to $500 already.  They will introduce the 40 gig in november, but I think the 80 gig price cut will have a bigger impact than that.

To be honest, no one knew about the cut price. Not even this week.

Retailer ads for this week STILL show the $600 price for the 80GB model.

I doubt Sony was planning on cutting the price, until they got a heads up about the month's numbers.

It seems that the price cut was announced on the 17th or 18th?

I don't know when it kicked into effect in most stores though. I'm sure the American posters will know more.

they were available for $500 immediately on amazon, personally i didn't go to any stores to check it out and the best buy ad for last Sunday still said $600 on it.
