im going to say 2010 will be ps3's year when it passes 360 because of the sheer amount of quality exclusives listed for 2010.which exclusives are the real console sales drivers & is clearly why ps3 will pass 360 next year.
Why are people so certain the PS3 will surpass the Xbox 360? 360 can come back and start outselling PS3 again just as easilly as PS3 started outselling 360. And there have been far more weeks in which the 360 outsold the PS3. I think it's far more likely that the 360 maintains its lead, even if PS3 keeps outselling it on a weekly basis. 7.5 million is no small amount to make up. Even if it does happen, it'll likely take 2-3 more years, at which point we will have likely moved onto the next generation so it would be largely irrelivant anyway...
It is possible, but not definite. If it does, it will be a long time coming.
^^the gap aint 7.5m anymore friend and it's still reducing weekly as we speak we havn't even see the holiday boost yet not to mention ff13 in JAPAN.

Times change. The 360 won't outsell de ps3 anymore, maybe for few weeks, but not longer. The 360 is already old while the ps3 is still new, i'm talking about the hardware and about the bluray. In the beginning bluray was useless, but there are more and more ps3 exclusives which need bluray, so the 360 can't follow and people will see that the ps3 offers much more quality exclusives.

That's hard to say; it is fully possible for the 360 to start outselling the PS3 in the future once again. You never know; there are plenty of things being released on both systems, and there is nothing that indicates that the PS3 will dominate from now on. As for quality exclusives, well that is just basically opinion on what is quality and what is not. The more important numbers will be the actually sales numbers.
Yes and sales numbers considering Forza was just released for 360 aren't looking great for 360. I still predict 360 bottom of the hardware sales page for the rest of this gen

Dunno if Forza 3 can be used as a valid indication, many might like me be awaiting VoM from friends after having been burned by Forza 2.
Disclaimer: Forza 3 looks top notch in the previews and reviews, but so did Forza 2 which to me just wasn't that much of an improvement from the first game(honestly some parts felt worse/rushed). This time I'm just playing it safe and it's not like the 360 lacks good racing franchises to hold me over.

Those numbers are useless. Doesn't matter which has sold faster in a given period of time. More importantly there was a growing gap with the PS3 on the losing side.
The gap now is closing because the PS3 is finally reasonably price for a gaming console. Without the price drop the 360 would still be selling more. With that said its difficult to predict what will happen until MS counteracts.
