Forums - Gaming - Vgchartz ranking game--The Orange Box!

10/10 the box is bursting to the brim with awesome 1. portal -among the greatest puzzel games 2. tf2- an amazing multiplayer experience and 3. half-life 2 and episodes 1 and 2 - arguably the best fps campain of all time.

yojohn, please ignore any non-PC reviews. I totally understand how PS3 fans could be annoyed by EA's piss poor port but it does an injustice to the real Orange Box.

Half Life 2 speaks for itself. Ep1 dragged but ep 2 made up for it. Portal is an innovative puzzler that I want to see more of but the cream, the cream of the crop is the legendary Team Fortress 2.

TF2 has probably tripled in content since it's release 2 years ago and it's ALL FREE!

Reglar updates that have led to an arms race between new offensive and defensive tactics.

Same weapon/same class FPS are dead to me. I'm class based all the way now.

The gameplay and content per $ for this bundle is phenominal and deserves no less than full marks. I think the Orange Box deserved a 10 when it released so it's upto 11 or 12 with all the free extra content.

12/10

That's a good point.  This is going to be another flawed ranking excercise due to the weak EA port on PS3.  The fact that Half Life is in many ways a PC franchise ported to consoles in itself makes this a rather odd choice for a console centric site.  On PC Half Life sold more than Halo I believe, but of course sold much less on consoles, so this is rather like asking a bunch of PC centric gamers to review Halo.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

10/10: it has 3 new games that are each 9s or 10s. This is literally the best value you can buy on a 360 and will probably stay that way.

Portal is the puzzle game of the generation.

Team Fortress 2 is the most fun multiplayer shooter ever made.

Episode 2 is a very good single player FPS (better than episode 1 and better than a lot of the original Half Life 2).

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I have been waiting to see if Halo or Halo 2 will ever make it to this thing cause I'll gladly pull out the 5s and 6s.

9.7/10

+ Great value for money
+ 5 great games for the price of one
+ Portal is revolutionary
+ HL storyline is quite good. I don't usually feel attached to a game's storyline like I do for this.

- High speed internet required for install
- HL episodes are short

9 out of 10. Had more fun with HL2 this time then on my original xbox. Portal is semi amusing. Team fortess was boring. episode one is only an 8/10. Havn't finished E2. Still can't stand how Morgan Freeman never talks, this lack of personality in the main character brings this title down for me.

HAHAHAHAA

9.5 .....5 awesome games in 1 for the price of a normal new release game. How heavy is that?! and the HL series is one of the greatest FPS ever.

This game cost me $20. I had no idea it would be so awesome.

10/10

If you like FPS games (and I actually don't), you must own it!

2/10
half life was boring as hell and team fortress was kiddish. portal was the only great thing that gave it a 2 would have gave it a 0 if there wasnt portal.

the fact i got it for free and gave it 2 indicates how ****ing bad the game was. portal was great but th rest was boring as hell i never finished half life 2. there really isnt that much of a story, i dont understand why people praise it as having a very good single player. very good single player to me is gears 2, halo 3 odst and assassins creed.

Edit : i have the xbox 360 version.

counter strike mops half life. i love counter strike.

also the graphics of half life were kinda like last generation. worst graphical game i have played on the xbox 360 so far.

^^ Your last sentence contradicts your entire post

Edit: well now I don't know what to say. You praise one of the most overhyped repetitive games this gen then say HL2 was boring. Probably played it too late.
