Hi there, thought it might be a neat idea to exchange AIM/ICQ handles and the like so folk can get together and chat when the site gets dugg and the forums are slow. ;)

Anyway to start:

On a related note I'm looking into registering a VGChartz IRC channel if there's enough interest for something like that.

The end result for these is allowing more participation in site discussions like the NPD roundtable.  I envision next month a half-dozen mods and users discussing while anyone else in the community can sit in the IRC channel and observe live, maybe submit questions and stuff.

The IRC idea is great!

I don't use instant messaging that much except for close friends and family, so I'll pass on that one ;)

i have no idea what AIM or ICQ is, i think i have heard of ICQ...from the post i assume it is something akin to messenger?

should i be joining?

AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, etc are instant message programs.

Any suggestions on a good IRC network/server to join?
