Forums - Microsoft - How can Xbox Live maintain its greatness?

@Munkeh111 yeah being able to streamline how many achievements pop up is a good idea.
Me and a friend tend to get the same games on the same day and have a sort of "I'm a bigger achievement whore that you" rivalry going on so maybe I could turn it off for him if he's getting too many.

As for the PiP you could make it a low res stream which you could make full screen if you liked to keep the bandwidth down. The sort of quality that you get for the Inside Xbox streams. Might not look amazing full screen but in the smaller PiP it would look good.

If you're both playing the same game like the season mode in Forza you could have his stream on in the corner to see how he's doing while you're still playing.

Yeah, that is an idea, I am not sure if PiP is quite needed, but more information about what your friends are doing would be good. I know XBL generally does a better job than PSN, but I would still appriechiate more information. Actually XBL wide stat tracking would be nice, with in game kills, in game time etc.... stuff that most MP games track, but across offline and online and every game, but I think that is probably a bit out of reach, hopefully next gen

I don't know how many games do it, but one thing I REALLY liked about Shadow Complex was that it always told me how many kills and such were done by people on my friends list. It was my motivation to kill one more guy or find one more item. Make that type of interface universal! It was awesome.

Except, most of the things I got told were showing how much better othes were than me, mostly Machina and Erikers....

FaceBook , Twitter , Last FM , Zune Videos , NetFlix and Sky will Bring Thousands of users to Xbox Live that dont want to play games...

As a Gamer i just want the 360 to play Games both offline and online and i will still pay 50$ for year for that.

But i wont use Zune , Last FM , Twitter or FaceBook , the unique thing i would use is Netflix or Sky but both arent on my country.

I wont but milions will and alot of people will buy Live for Sky and Zune Videos.

Also alot of people want 360 Games and not Ps3 Gamers , i think Splinter Cell will move Consoles , Natal and Reach Aswell.

Cross Netflix off that list since it's coming to PS3. Rumor has it that Sky will follow this trend too.

As for your last sentence, if you meant more people want the 360 games rather than the PS3 games in 2010, then it's WAY too premature to say that. You're ignoring Agent, MAG (look at its preorders and amount of weeks left till it releases), God of War III, GT5 (Halo of racing games in Europe), The Last Guardian, among other games.

Netflix on the X360 is more user friendly in a way.. You probably need to insert a disk to use it on the PS3.. Unless the PS3 version can add movies to queue from the PS3 itself, Netflix s a nice feature to have on there, but imo inferior to the X360 version. Sure, putting in a disk is not a lot of effort, but getting the disk in the first place, or if you don't know where it is blah blah.. Also Zune HD does allow you to rent videos on the go in 1080p, which also erases the effort of going out to rent a blu-ray disk. Maybe Sky will follow too. I don't know, but if you need another disk for that..., I doubt it'll catch on.

But it's at no additional cost for PSN, no?

well with natal being released next year, how about party conversation. ie everyone in the party in a video conversation using natal.

i got my idea from microsoft implementing useless apps (twitter facebook) so if they wanna go ridiculously further maybe Skype?

I for one wish that bungie.net would implement a app, similar to halo waypoint, in which you can check out your stats, which may lead to epic posting the gears stats..

also mygamercard could have a cool app, having those leaderboards accessible to the dash

honestly i know that every year microsoft will try to extend the experience of live thats why im willing to pay my subs.

True. I guess you get more comfort/laziness for what you pay?
