Forums - Microsoft - Should I get A Xbox 360?

No way are the new 360's as reliable as the PS3s, lol i love how people keep on convincing themselves that the RROD issue is nearly non-existant, I still have friends that have XBOX 360 that die on them.
I would save my money if I was you, buy more PS3 games instead with the money you have saved.

I handle at least a hundred 360's for repairs each week so I know exactly how reliable they are and it has improved dramatically as numerous research has shown too.  Where did you dredge your misinformation from.  By the way we had 27 PS3 Slims back within the first launch week too, might not want to go crowing about the reliability of them when the build qulity of the slim is terrible in comparison to the 80GB (cheap parts have been implemented everywhere to save on costs).

I love how PS3 fanboys are constantly in denial about the improved reliability of the 360.

Thats because it is nearly non-existant.

Virtually non-existant. Alright a friend of mine is on his fifth X-Box , he bought a 360 launch day and has had them red ring five times. But you can argue that was before the Falcon chip and Microsoft's various fixes.

Well I know of three falcon (360 Elites) that have red ringed including my own all within the past few months. Infact the refurbished 360 I got is freezing a Microsoft is screwing me over, claiming they make defective software and that it is my copies of Halo3 , Halo:ODST and BlueDragon that are causing my console to freeze and not the hardware!

In the end Microsoft is very bad at hardware reliability.

I still think the best way to go would be getting a Wii, just think about it a second if you never owned a Wii before their is a huge library of first party exclusives just waiting for you to play. SmashBros, galaxy , MarioKart, Zelda, Metroid, NSMBW....etc....etc... Then next year were getting Galaxy 2 and another Zelda/Metroid game. You can get a Wii for under 200$ in the states or 209.99$ here in Canada. Their is no excuse for being caught without a Wii this generation!

The answer to this question lies within you, do you want one?

I currently own a PS3/360 and i have found that there are more and better exclusives on the PS3, the only games that i think are good and i own for the 360 are HALO 3, left 4 dead, gears of war 1 (I own part 2 but it sucks) and to be honest no one wants to pay $50 a month for an online service thats bassically a downgrade (when compared to the PSN) and if you want to access the internet wirelessly you would need to purchace a wire less add-on for the 360 for $100, and batteries for the controller every now and again.

now a list of things that the PS3 has included that the 360 doesn't
1.Free online play
2.wireless included
3.internet browsing
4.bluetooth
5.and plenty of PS3 titles like:
metal gear solid 4, little big planet, resistance 1 and 2, ratchet and clank TOD and ACIT,                                                                                     heavenlysword, MAG, inFAMOUS, Uncharted 1 and 2, Warhawk, Motorstorm 1 and 2,
god of war 3, heavy rain, the last gaurdian, Killzone 2, Lair, MLB 09 the show,
ninja gaiden sigma 1 and 2, Socom and many more.

THATS 24 games with that many great titles i see no reason why you should get an xbox 360.

you would need to pay a minimum of $490 for 1 year and $590 for 3 years (not including tax) for your 360 to get most of the features that the PS3 already has and trust me your 360 is only going to gather dust because your not going to use it at all. so if u want to save yourself over half a thousand dollars, do yourself a favor and dont make the same mistake i made by buying a 360.

No need in trying to sell the PS3 to the OP.  He owns one already jeez, you would think someones life depends on this guy buying a ps3 instead of a 360.  Whats with the FUD?  Live isn't $50 a month and if you look around just a teenie tiny bit you can get it for $29.99 - $39.99 (online) for 13 months.  Which would be less than a Big Mac meal every month.

On topic:

The 360 is well worth your consideration.  It has a lot of older exclusive games that are great and dirt cheap, not to mention all of the stuff thats coming in the near future.  No one here should be making your mind up for you.  You should just go with what you think.  And if your a gamer you already know that you want it so just do it.  No one will think your sinning for purchasing a gaming console other than the PS3 (well except for a few nutters).

Gaming to me is about having fun and it doesn't matter if its from a wii, a ps3, or a 360.  Hell, I still have a lot of fun playing basic browser games.

"This kind of post #445565456"

1.Free online play     -> XBL 3 € a month, better services
2.wireless included   -> Useless for gaming / the bandwidth of XBL is so superior that you don't want to spoil it with wireless
3.internet browsing  -> Useless for gaming
4.bluetooth               -> Uselss for gaming

Anyway, you take a console for the games library... not that kind of stupidy....

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

can we see some new arguements about why someone should stick with ps3 instead of buying an xbox please. its getting boring

If you want to pay for Live then go ahead. Otherwise don't bother with it. Keep in mind, so far the only argument people keep saying that Live is better is because they pay for it.

Cross game chat. that's pretty much it. But do you really need it?

Do you have a capable PC? If so, then you won't miss out on very many 360 "exclusives." If your PC isn't up to par then sure, by all means get a 360.
