Sony did publish some amazing games but do they really need to be awarded something for basically following sane business practice.

Sony's first and second party games have been better than Nintendo's this gen.

Sony should've got it in 2008 aswell imo. The ps3 is in third place in the US though so no chance.

I was gonna say yes but now that I think of it, they were pretty close then too.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Mario Kart Wii got a 6 and it outsold all games mentioned in the OP... combined. What this shows is that critics get overruled by gamers and in the end that's what really matters: pleasing gamers, not reviewers. |
just because something sells doesn't necessarily mean its quality

Pity the Sony owners are not buying these games.
I mean ODST has sold more than any of these games in percentage of release dates.
Not putting down the games here just pointing out the facts.
I mean uc2 is looking like it could drop out of top ten in UK next week.

Absolutely correct. However, the OP's method of a 90+ Metacritic isn't any better as an indicator to quality. This is taking the word of approximately 60 game players over the opinions of many more. Not to mention critical reviews in gaming are a joke compared to other fields like books, movies, and music. If there were more credibility in the review system, they may have some weight, however without it, I'd say sales are actually a better indication if we have nothing else to go on.
No contest, Ps3, won this year, imo, and if we go by Gamerankings, it also supports my point.
Sony have released great games this year, true, but pulling up the IGN score is hardly anything to go by. They've been shitting and giving away 9's like it was water flowing to the ocean.
