DVDs almost always sell far more units then games. Obviously they don't make as much revenue but in terms of overall sales the home video market is huge. I mean twilight sold over 9 million DVDs alone in America and the original transformers did something like 15 million units. Thats not even including the sales WW.

The physical home video market may be down yoy but its still huge.

Amazing. After DVD took pretty bad hit(s) in 2008, we're having an up year, it seems.

However, it's not the top selling DVD of 2009. Twilight is. Its sold 9.1 million so far this year.

Well if critics are anything to go by, Twilight is a much better movie than Transformers 2. So it's much deserved.

Well thats the issue I had with the articles headline aswell. It clearly isn't the best selling video release. I think they meant it had the best first week of the year.

However it will be in short order. I read somewhere that Paramount are predicting between 10 and 12 million units by the end of the year or something like that.
