He thinks Wii Fit will outsell the GTA franchise don't take him seriously

Ah, I see you are employing the old Ad Hominem attack, the last refuge of one who is unable to address the points themselves

Hey, you're the one who puts up predictions that won't ever come true. Don't get mad if other people point them out.

Pointing them out isn't the problem its when you fail to address the points of the relevant argument, and instead try and use the predictions as an argument

I made my argument, which addressed your points completely, and he added by pointing out that you often make incorrect and wild predictions. Je doesn't need to argue with you when I've already addressed your points fully, and frankly, your predictions are an argument against your logic in themselves.

No you didn't, you got whiny and said: Okay then, a couple extra thousand consoles sold. Not hard stuff. Can you just admit that maybe the PS3 will outsell the Wii? Geez. How is that addressing my points? You said its not hard stuff, but didn't show why, and then you whined about whether I can admit something or not

Oh yes, whining was it? In my original post, I still pointed out that that two games that sell over 100k can easily move a couple thousand consoles. And when you claimed that I'd need to account for dropoffs, I said it would be only a couple extra thousand at best. Maybe it sounded like whining because you're so attached to the Wii that you're in serious denial, and it's frankly frustrating to argue with you. Besides, the Wii could just as easily have dropoffs, and it's not like Tekken is a small series in Japan (even if the numbers have fallen from previous iterations). And besides, for what seems like weeks, you've constantly been pushing the idea that software is just about the only force behind moving hardware. So isn't it very possible that two big games debuting to over 100k each will move a decent amount of hardware? Or are you throwing your own policy out the window when it suits you?

Call me a whiner all you want, but you're still wrong and I'm still right.

No, all you said was they can, move a couple thousand, you never showed that they will, then when I pointed out that they'd have to move more than a few thousand you just said it would be easy, again you never showed that they would, you just kept pulling the goalposts. I never said just any software will move hardware, just like Wii fit plus didn't move much hardware. You say you are right, but my point was you didn't show anything to support, you just said you were right and got upset when I didn't believe you without some support.

Well, when you need proof, to show that two large games, can move a couple thousands units of hardware, maybe you're asking for, evidence of something that has yet to happen. I don't think you, know what pulling the goalposts actually means, and besides, that's not even, the right expression anyways.

Okay, I'll stop talking like you now. Do you really need support that games debuting to over 100k can move hardware? Just look at dozens of weeks for the PS3 in Japan over 2008 and 2009. Hell, look at the price drop week for the PS3. It's like you said previously, price cuts don't move consoles, so it must have been entirely the new software launches. Which were, coincidentally, over 100k. We're not talking about moving 20k extra PS3s or more, we're talking about possibly putting the PS3 above the Wii when there was only a 2k disparity this last week, something that's perfectly possible when 2 games are launching that are looking to both sell over 100k in their first weeks. Is it bound to happen? No. But it's very possible.

Last week and the week before were within the margin of error, so it was a statistical tie. If Media Create and Famitsu agree this week, then yes PS3 outsold the Wii. But it's kind of insignificant in the grand scheme of things when Wii already has 2/3 marketshare in Japan and Sold over 390k this week compared to PS3's 220k.

Do you even know what the argument is about?

Ok, so I used the wrong expression, my apologies, maybe its moving the goalposts, but you know what I meant. Now onto the question to the software, yes some software does move hardware, but only if the people buying the software don't already have the console, if everyone buying the game already owns a PS3, then it won't move PS3's. Wii Fit plus sold well over 100K, but didn't move many Wii's because most who bought the game already had a Wii, hence the point that just selling software doesn't necessarily mean a boost in hardware if people who want the game already own the system. Good see now saying its possible is fine, that I'm fine with, but your earlier argument was that it would no doubt, and that was what I wanted proof of.

Hm, according to MC, PS3 beat Wii with a couple of thousands of units in Japan, but VGC numbers shows Wii > PS3?

They track different sources so the numbers will never be exactly the same.
