Forums - Sony - EyePet - The Making of a Hit?

Like I said, the EyePet-camera bundle is sold for the same price as the camera on Amazon UK.

But I was asking about an Eypet-PS3 bundle. Sony really need one, with that cute critter on the box to make little children cry in the store if mommy & daddy refuse to buy one.

The Playstation Eye is regularly 25 in the UK and EyePet camera bundle is regularly 35 in the UK.

You can't really go off random deals like that since those don't always last.

it aint all that... my daughter is even getting bored of it now... its quite limited and easy to exhaust the things to do.

Well my daughter for one is loving it!

Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.

I met her in a club down in old Soho,

Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,

C-o-l-a, cola.

She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,

I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;

Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela

Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

well thats what natal promises to do

The difference between Natal and Eyepet is that Natal is a piece of hardware that has limitless possibilites (though we'll see if people take advantage of that) and Eye Pet is a piece of software that what you see is what you get.

i think the comparison was what natal and ps eye can do.  not between natal and eyepet.
sony is concerned with hardcore gamers like several people have said the motion controls are designed with hard core gaming in mind

ms might and probably will have better luck because they have game developers on there side and eyepet will only help reinforce this.
but sony must have found it hard to make hard core games with the ps eye (which is only missing depth and full body compared to natal) hints they are making a controller.  this game is probably sonys attempt at a camera game and they have came to the conclusion they need a controller and considering sony are several years ahead of ms in the camera area i suspect we will find that ms will eventually be drawn to the same conclusions.

I don't know why, while Natal makes me simply wonder what XB360 has to do with South Africa, OTOH I find PSEye and all the other Eye based Sony names, well, disturbing...

Nearly 300,000 copies sold, and it's not even out in Japan and America...

Just as predicted.

This should see a big boost during the Holidays in Europe... Not really a game for me though, but if I had a little sister or something, sure.

That article is absolutely right in its reasons why the casual market should eat it up but it is forgetting one thing-- the casual audience doesn't own a PS3 and even with the casual games it has the PS3 isn't seen as the casual machine.

Then natal would be even more screwd.

But a house hold with either probably has a prime user, but also then there are the others.  The others in the house can still use it and if something they like is available theres no reason they cant buy it.

Rockband Singstar Guitar Hero are selling well nuf, the casual audience is there on both hd consoles.

I can't imagine how the game developers must have dealt with the task of making this game. I mean surely most of the guys are hardcore gamers(they were making the getaway III, right?) then they have to try and make a casual game. I wonder how many times they started implementing some sort of challenge and had to stop themselves and remind themselves that casuals don't like challenges, nor do they like complexity, nor good graphics. Must have been tough. Either that or they were just laughing the whole time making the game in jest, throwing the most retarded features into the game laughing at how the casuals will eat this game up.

Anyways as for the guy that said casuals dont own PS3's well they may not have been the person to buy the console, but PS3's are in many households that have young kids and casuals so they could purchase the games for the house's PS3.
