just in the same way mobile phone, mp3 players, televisions, PC users etc get used to constant upgrades. Why should handhelds be different to any other electronic device??

You should buy your handheld well in the knowledge that a slightly better one will be released within a few months....the exact same applies to nearly every other electronic device. I bought an LCD TV and Sony released a slightly better version 3 months later...did I care? No, because the one I bought was still a good purchase and I knew they would bring out a better one soon enough just like everything else..

Depends on what kind of upgrades happen.

PSP2000 to 3000 wouldn't hurt anyone much at all. PSP3000 to Go doesn't seem like too big of a deal either. DSi to DSi-LL doesn't seem like much but I would say DSLite to DSi is a huge and upsetting difference... if they releases within 9 months of each other...

For something like 2 years+, doesn't seem like much of a problem.
