Forums - Gaming - PS1>N64 Thread!

Before I go, I will say that the N64 has more games that I'm willing to play TODAY. At the time, the PS1 library was far superior. N64 games aged better, though. Most PS1 games are now unplayable, to me.

FF Tactics
MGS
Crash 1-3
Rayman
Resident Evil 1-3
Fear Effect 1-2
Soul Blade
Spyro
Incredible Crisis
Dino Crisis 2
Silent Hill
Tekken 3
R4
-Timeless classics.
Later, dudes.

well if they're gonna make a thread about N64>PS1 it is only fair that you make this thread as well. I said in the N64 thread the same thing, ps1 has many more deep single player games especially RPGs. N64 had many more games that were fun with 2-4 players. They were both really good and it's a matter of opinion, i slightly prefer PS1.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

To be honest I'm a man who prefers to thoroughly play a few games - I buy maybe twenty games for a console at the most. This probably contributes to why I so prefer the N64 - it had a more concise and higher quality library.

There were good games on the PS1 (personal favourites - Medieval and Gran Turismo 2) but nothing that was (in my opinion) quite as amazing as SM64, Ocarina of Time or GoldenEye. And yes I did play (and own) both FFVII and Metal Gear Solid.

I guess I agree with this.

I admit, I never actually owned a PS1, though I did get to play some of the games, I couldn't justify purchasing one. FFVII and VIII came to the PC, so I was covered there. Honestly, I thought most of the games were unbearably ugly (bad 3D looks worse to me than NES graphics). Besides, the N64 and PC (which was a damn beast in this era) was enough to take up all my gaming time.

edit: The PS1 also introduced loading times, so it couldn't even do a game like FF6 right. Cartridges > CD's!

I'll sign up too, only if you add Parasite Eve to that list :P

The PS1 is much better than the N64. Instead of making games that play amazingly like the N64 did, Sony gave us the FMV, cutscenes, and ridiculously long loading times. Who wants to play a game when you can watch it?

About Crash Team Racing being better than Mario Kart 64... Not only is it not, but other N64 racing games that are similar like Diddy Kong Racing and Snowboard Kids are much better IMO.
