Rath said: To be honest I'm a man who prefers to thoroughly play a few games - I buy maybe twenty games for a console at the most. This probably contributes to why I so prefer the N64 - it had a more concise and higher quality library.
There were good games on the PS1 (personal favourites - Medieval and Gran Turismo 2) but nothing that was (in my opinion) quite as amazing as SM64, Ocarina of Time or GoldenEye. And yes I did play (and own) both FFVII and Metal Gear Solid. |
I guess I agree with this.
I admit, I never actually owned a PS1, though I did get to play some of the games, I couldn't justify purchasing one. FFVII and VIII came to the PC, so I was covered there. Honestly, I thought most of the games were unbearably ugly (bad 3D looks worse to me than NES graphics). Besides, the N64 and PC (which was a damn beast in this era) was enough to take up all my gaming time.
edit: The PS1 also introduced loading times, so it couldn't even do a game like FF6 right. Cartridges > CD's!
